I will be doing my NV donations pick-up run Sunday evening, baring any unforseens. Feel free to leave me a message here or to text me at 206-949-5001 if you would like to be on the list of stops.

(I will be making a drive around West Seattle/White Center area to pick up donations people have for NV that they haven't been able to get to the camp.)

wcd -- thanks for posting this in advance as it gives me some incentive to clean the closets. I'm in Morgan Junction about 2 blocks south of Thriftway. If I will have clothes for you to pick up, I'll post contact info out here Sat afternoon, unless you need to know sooner.

Nope, no need to know sooner. I am good getting new stops even on the road.
    Thanks for the thought.

How about taking them some water? They've been running out since person delivering regularly stopped for some reason. A friend and I were taking gallon jugs, about 3 doz. or so, with lunch every Sat. but she had to stop going and I don't drive. Being senior citizens, we couldn't handle the big jugs but took what we could. Good of you to pick up donations for those who can't get there. They need blankets and warm clothes. They appreciate any help.

I think I heard you were looking for help to deliver lunch on Sat at NV. My email address can be found in my profile info. Please let me know if you still need help.

If someone has water jugs that need to be delivered, I can gladly take them too.I just do not have a place to store the jugs and I know that my runs will not be routine enough to keep them in water.
I am game for taking WHATEVER you guys have to them -- water, food, supplies, clothes -- as long as it fits in the Expedition it can go along for the ride.

While I am at it, anyone know what sort of items they are in need of right now? I know blankets and clothes. Canned food -- what type? Veggies? Meat? Soups? Clothing wise, are they in need more of outerwear or things like bras? Toilitries - anything specific? I know there have been animals living there, what are the animal needs? What's the kid situation? I have someone whose donation I will be delivering looking for specifics, and I don't know the answers.
Maybe more specifically, is there anything they don't need? Anythign the supply is meeting demand for? Anything that NV already has a line on?

  9. Debbie, yes on all of the canned goods you listed.

I'd have to ask a Donations Coordinator about specific current clothing needs.

However, warm socks are an ongoing need. We could use some thermal underwear in various sizes. Hoodies, in various sizes. Warm gloves and stocking caps (a regular supporter donated some of each today! :-) )

As far as pet needs; we're doing pretty fair on both cat and dog food right now, especially dry food. But, could use some cat and dog leashes, kitten, cat, and dog harnesses and collars.

As far as what we don't need; we usually have a pretty decent supply of various breads, including hamburger and hot dog buns.

Thank you for organizing the donations pick-up and delivery, and thanks to you and everyone else for the donations!

Took Kevin's offer to drive me tomorrow to NV for lunch. Was going to ask you to pick up some milk and water from me but now no need at least for this time. I'll be taking hot soup, coffee and a apple cake. Rain or shine , doesn't matter to me. Food is first come bases.

They need personal toiletries, ladies monthly products, TOILET PAPER, disinfectant wipes for the tables, Canned foods like chili, pasta stuff stews, hearty soups that can be heated, coffee: warm clothes now, Socks to keep dry now too. Men and women underwear.

There is a family of 5 kids there ages from about 2 to 15. Somebody at NV can give sizes. They are not allowed to ask for things but we can ask "What do you need". In case you haven't been there, if you go to they gate and no one there, holler or wave for attention and say you have delivery. You generally won't have to carry anything.

I've seen pet food delivered but don't know if regularly. I think all dogs & cats are on leashes, not allowed to run. Ones I've seen are well behaved. You'll just have to ask questions.
It's really great that you can and are willing to pick up donations & deliver to them.Remember its getting dark earlier.

Is it possible for me to deliver donations after dark -- say, early evening? (I know there's no electricity yet...) And where is the best place to park and enter with donations? I'm planning to take some things over, but I haven't visited before, so I don't know the drill. Thanks!

Yes you can deliver after dark. The safest place is the park and ride lot on W Marginal way. There's a security shack at the top of the berm and they're trying to keep it manned 27/7. We just dropped off a couple that we had taken away for a while and security was on duty around 7:30.
The gate on the north side is on the highway and extremely dangerous for entry as there really isn't parking other than on the shoulder. Several near misses have occured there so we wouldn't reccomend that gate.
