Sweet story on King5 tonight: "A 13-year-old boy living at the Nickelsville encampment is one of a dozen people at the camp who were given cameras and asked to capture their love for animals for all to see. KING 5 photojournalist Ron Sanford shows us the work that speaks volumes." The video is available at the King5 website. It's very touching and well worth watching.

I did see this on the news tonight. He is a nice and intelligent young man. His pictures were great. I'd loved to have gone to see the display of pictures. He has been on news from Nickelsville several times and does very well. I see him nearly every Saturday when I take lunch. He seems to be doing quite well inspite of his and his mother's circumstances. My little grandaughters love him.

Betty....he really looks like an exceptional young man who will do well in life in spite of the circumstances of his upbringing....he just has that "I'm special" aura about him. I just hope someone comes along to mentor him to be all that he can be.
BTW, do you know how Gene Lee's catered dinner went? According to his posts, it was scheduled for today so was wondering if it happened?

Yes, the dinner was great!
And "T" is definitely a good kid.
I, too, have been amazed at how well he handles the conditions he lives in.

How many kids are currently there?

Mike lived there when I met him and knows "T" very well. He's polite and very helpful. I"ve been told his recent grades were all but one "A". Yes, I'd really like to see him have a good mentor so he'll continue on this track as he gets older.
