   I'm moving from Pigeon Point (which I dearly love) to a new home very close to Tony's produce stand on 35th. What, pray tell, is the name of my new neighborhood?

   The businesses on all sides of the intersection seem to identify with Westwood (and then there was the Times article that claimed Super Deli Mart was in White Center!) but if you go a bit further west you are in Fauntleroy.

   Sorry to disagree, but I bet most of the houses on the West site of 35th identify with Fauntley Hills or Upper Fauntley Hills. This is how my house at 37th and Trenton was advertised to me.

   West of 35th is Fauntleroy and East is Roxhill...go figure!

   The key here is ADVERTISED....attach the name of a popular neighborhood to increase interest. I never heard of upper Fauntleroy until oh, 5 years ago. I think that area(west side of 35th before getting to fauntleroy) was referred to as Barton. I know the area west of 35th between Barton and Roxbury we referred to as the Roxbury area. Arbor Heights south of Roxbury. I sold Real Estate in West Seattle between 1976-1980 and these are the terms we used to identify the neighborhoods.

   You now live in the Highest and Mightiest West Seattle Neighborhood. All other West Seattleites and those in all other Seattle neighborhoods, look up to you! End of story!

    The city clerk also has a big disclaimer under the map saying the "divisions" are to help them retrieve documents and photos and the it is not an official neighborhood map. Otherwise, half of West Seattle is considered "Delridge" instead of "West Seattle" and that is not the case.

    I grew up on Pigeon Point (Family home 1952-1994). And it is true many old timers did not consider us as part of West Seattle.

    SO-RO..

    I remember my aunt,lived in Admiral her whole life, who never considered crossing 35th.
    Just forbidden and scary from her perspective.
    Saw her at the QFC in Westwood last year.
    Times change...
