I have a Ford Escape and need my heater fixed. Let me know if there are any good mechanics in our hood.
Thanks!

I like Dere Auto on 35th. Cheap and reliable and trustworthy - I have been taking my various vehicles there for years. 937-6994
Tom's Automotive is a little more expensive, but they are super great people. 937-1114.
I'll second for Dere. They do a great job, they're reasonable and fast. Besides, Lee is a crack-up.
35th and Barton.
Dere is the best! They are honest and well priced!
Sweet, I live in High Point so that's very convenient...thanks!
I go to Maestro Motors on Fauntleroy with my Toyota. They share a building with Diva Coffee just south of Avalon. He is great. Honest, well-mannered, and does a good job. Doesn't talk down to women - or do any work that doesn't need doing. Good luck!
The only people I trust are up at Barnecut's, (the gas station on Admiral across from the Starbucks.) Andy is fantastic - he always takes the time to explain things to me even though he knows I probably don't understand much. And I had a constant check engine light problem that he looked at MULTIPLE times and didn't charge me any time except the first. I highly recommend them :)
Dere is good, but I like to use C.A.R. (Complete Auto Repair) on 35th and Holden. Honest work, fast work, and he'll work with you to make sure you know what you're paying for. Good guy.
If it is a major tear out including the heater core, take it directly to AC Automotive on 4th S.
Dere is good for tune-ups but not so good at diagnosis or head scratchers.
For straight mechanical and minor tune-ups, see Tim at Barnecuts. Fair and honest.
Steer clear of $Elliot$ unless you have a fat wallet.
wow..nobody mentioned Tom's automotive by Alki Lumber?? I've been a customer there for years..Can't speak highly enough about the entire team.
Would second recommendation for Maestro Motors, Richard is great, always seems very reasonable. Have a coffee at Diva Espresso while you wait.
I've been using Barnecut's on Admiral for over 20 years. They service my company and personal vehicles as well as those of my employees. The gamut runs from sporty to trucks and covers Nissan, Toyota, Ford and Chevy. If Andy or Tim can't do the job they can refer you to someone who can. They are honest, they are fair, and they do the job right. They are a long time family owned business in West Seattle and have earned my respect and continued support.
Harrah's Automotive - located behind Blockbuster on Admiral.
Rick + Ron are excellent mechanics : fair, honest, dependable.
I have been taking my car to Master's Auto for over 10 years (they are located on 16th SW across from Albertson's in White Center) and they always to an excellent job and I always feel like they are giving me a great value for my dollar.
Another vote for Barnecut's on Admiral. I've taken many vehicles there over the past few years and have always been pleased with the service. Andy is great.
Complete Auto Repair 35th and holden. Call Ben he is the best I've used this shop for 21 years. 206 932-9975 he is trustworthy honest and fair.
I want to give a well-deserved shout out to Maestro Motors On Fauntleroy next to Diva Espresso. Richard, Tyler, and Ahmet are wonderful. My single girlfriends and I have been going to Maestro for at least 8 years, because unfortunately, we exemplify the stereotype of women who don't know their autos well enough to change a tire and we know he won't take advantage of us or anybody.
Well, I strayed because Richard was on vacation and summertime driving got his placed slammed. I went to another supposedly reputable place (in Burien) who proceded to tell me that my brake rotors were shot, I would need new pistons, pads, and calipers, and bleeding the brake lines, all costing $596. The place said they 'feared for my safety. The next big rain your brakes could fail.' They also said I needed to replace my battery and the wires, and it would cost $176. I freaked. I went in for a hose problem, and they were trying to hose me!
I drove straight to Maestro. The guys fit me in last minute, they could see I was near tears over the anger of being treated like an idiot, took a look, and shook thier heads in disbelief. They affirmed my suspicions that the other place was upselling me royally.
They said the other place was trying to replace the whole system when it wasnt needed. They did the brakes for $186 total w/labor and parts, and cleaned my battery, which was still good. They even rotated my tires while it was up there. All in less than an hour.
I stand by thier honesty and would rather skip work so they could work on my car before I go to anyone else again.
One of the last good ones out there, Thanks Maestro!
Chris at Alki- very nice, very honest and concerned about your safety.
I've gone to Doyle's Automotive for 18 yrs and always gotten good work at a fair price.
I second the rave for Alki Auto. been going there for 4+ years now. no complaints.
DOYLES AUTOMOTIVE on 37th SW near the Y, we've been really happy customers for 15 years plus...We've referred many to them and think they are the best. They have a VW specialist there too. Free red vines in the lobby are are chupacabra friendly.
