zephyrParticipantI am looking for someone to haul away yard debris. These are limbs cut from old overgrown hedges and shrubs–not tree trunks. I have a large pile so far and there will be more, but I need to move out what I have accumulated. I want someone reliable and responsible so that I can be sure they are disposed of properly. I would imagine this is at least two pickup trucks or maybe one of those larger trucks with plywood sides.
Can someone tell me what I should expect to pay for this? I will be able to help load the branches. Please suggest someone that you have used more than once and would use again. Thanks,
~z
P.S. I had posted this last week in the wrong section of the forum. So I am trying this location.

blackpointwoodyMemberHey Zephyr,
First to address “how much should I expect to pay?” I have a great old Chevy, we call him Kramer as the bushes/trees etc we load pile high before we strap it all down looks like Kramer’s hair (Seinfeld).
If he’s fully loaded with “green” debris that’s not terribly heavy the landfill cost is usually about $75-$100. If you have about a truck load and are willing to help load, I’d ask for around $200, assuming we can get Kramer somewhere close to the pile, and this price includes dump fees and the offload at the landfill.
I’m not driving Kramer until later this week, so I could also just park him and let you load, and the price could dwindle.

P.S. More than happy to provide phone or email contacts of many happy, repeat customers.

tom kelleyParticipantI have a 4×8 utility trailer that I could park at your job if you want to load it yourself or I could do it for you or a combination of the above. As to your concerns about proper disposal ride along to the dump. I would be happy to take a look at it for a free assessment of possible solutions. totomkelley@comcast.net

celeste17ParticipantWould these limbs and such be good for wood at Nicklesville?

zephyrParticipantHi, celeste17,
Good question. Answer: not really. These are from hedges and shrubs with lots of leaves, twigs and branches. They are mixed with a good bit of stickery things including holly, thorny cotoneaster, prickly quince, blackberry and ivy. I have found someone to come haul them away soon.
Thanks, ~z

zephyrParticipantHi, gardenmom,
Wow. I just now saw your request–four weeks later. I have sent you an email. Once that job was done, I didn’t look back. ;) I went with Tom Kelley above. He was excellent.
