Need Shrubs/Flowers for my Garden

  1. I'm a new homeowner to a property with a neglected yard. If you have 'extra' berry bushes, flowers, or other plants or tiny trees that you'd be willing to offer, I'd really appreciate it.

By "tiny trees" do you mean baby trees, or trees that won't grow very tall?

  3. Both -- my husband drives a Saturn, so we can't transport anything more than 4 or 5 feet tall. Also, it would be great to have a tree on our empty deck, or in the parking strip, but there are height (and other) restrictions on the types that are allowed need electrical wire and pipes.

If you're willing to dig, I have bamboo and some saplings to donate. Maybe a buddlea (butterfly bush)and who knows...

  5. Velmo-I am going to have more daises here soon. They are white and rather boring BUT they grow like crazy and you will have more for next year for sure. I will also have extra calla lily later in spring that divides quite nicely. Let me know if you are interested. tjbuechle at gmail dot com

If you want some iris, I just noticed a couple inches of greenery coming up; I'm happy to pull up a few tubers. They spread pretty rapidly.

Love the plant-sharing! velmo, if you're not familiar with plants that are considered King County noxious weeds, please take a look at http://www.kingcounty.gov/environment/animalsAndPlants/noxious-weeds.aspx

I only mention this because someone offered a buddleia and many varieties of those are invasive in our region. Not dissing the offer at all--this is one of those plants that not a lot of people realize is invasive. Just saves yourself a lot of digging later! :-)

    i wouldn't mind a buddelia as this isn't a permanent garden...

but i can see where someone else might be concerned...
unless they had a lot of space to fill...

Iris? Somebody wants iris? I have a patch of yellow iris that badly needs thinning. But I'd have to ask somebody else to do the digging...that's the reason it needs thinning so badly. kld963@gmail.com if anybody's interested.

JoB--not sure where it says this isn't a permanent garden? Coulda missed that, but regardless--buddleias seed like crazy, so even if they're in the garden for one season, you and your neighbors are going to have new trees! :-)
