  1. Hello, I need a good recommendation for a Massage. I want someone who has really strong hands and can really work on a big guy who is a wonderful father and needs a good Father's Day treat. Any suggestions would be great. thanks.

I would highly recommend Kate Anglin. Her studio is next to West Seattle Cellars on California (a bottle of wine after the massage is a good thing). Her number is 718-5042. I have had several massages with her and always left feeling great.

  6. Throwing in a recommendation for Yarrow Spa! Right on Harbor Avenue - weird space, but the massage I got there was both relaxing and one heck of a work-over! I couldn't recommend them more. Want straight pampering/relaxation - Phoebe at Head to Toe, hands down. Want to get the kinks out? Yarrow.

  7. To be clear, I think LStephens and I are recommending the same person! lol

Jen Barth at Mean Girls on 153rd in Burien and Dianne Shockley at M3 Bodyworks on California are both brilliant at deep tissue massage. If you need to be beaten up (in the best possible way) you can't go wrong with either.

  9. I'd recommend JanS (http://massageforwell-being.com) and Desire at Gypsyfoot Massage (http://www.gypsyfootmassage.com)

  10. I second Lindsey @ Shanti Salon. I can't wait till the next time I get to go see her! I also love Phoebe @ Head to Toe. But Lindsey is my favorite hands down. Very strong hands, knows EXACTLY what she's doing! Very intelligent and friendly.

I know you have a zillion recommendations already, but I have to mention Mike McCann at West Seattle ActiveBody Massage. I've seen Mike off and on for a couple years now, for treatment for debilitating back and neck pain due to herniated disks. He is an expert not only in deep tissue massage, but in using movement and stretching along with exercise and massage to recover and heal from injuries. He is as strong as an ox, which is what first drew me to him, but as I experienced over time, he is just incredibly talented in how he uses various techniques. So your guy won't just get mashed and manhandled. Mike has done so much to improve my condition -- I went from being in intolerable pain to being able to carry my backpack up to the Enchantments for a week-long hike. Really, he's that good.

    Here is Mike's contact information:
