Need a QUIET cafe

  1. or other casual meeting place, at or near the junction. Someplace I can meet with a client who is a little challenged with hearing. Cafe Ladro's acoustics are just too echo-y. Is there anyplace that does NOT play music? Internet not needed.
    Thanks in advance.

  2. A bit south of the Junction, C&P Coffee always seemed pretty quiet to me, tho' I was never a regular.

  5. C&P is comfortable and definitely quiet - although sometimes a little too quiet if you don't want others hearing your conversation. :)

Coffee to a Tea on California, if you sit in the front away from the kid play area, is usually conducive to conversation. The other Cafe Ladro on California (south of Morgan Junction) is smaller and not too loud.

C and P also can be very noisy when they get busy. A lot of regulars from the immediate neighborhood bring their dogs which makes the place seem like a doggydaycare...:(

On the other hand, they have way better coffee than Starbucks does, and the folks that work there are super nice...:)

  7. We heart C & P and Hotwire since they're WSB sponsors, good people, etc., but on the rare occasions when we have to have extended discussions such as story interviews in neutral territory, neither really works, so we go to Diva - where it's usually quiet AND the space is big so the chairs/tables are spread out enough you don't feel someone 2 feet away is hanging on (OR bothered by) your every word. If you can venture away from The Junction, the Delridge Uptown Espresso, though a little less bright, also usually has space to sprawl - TR

  8. Thanks, all. I went to C&P because of the recommendations here and because I wanted to support a WSB sponsor. Diva might have been a better choice for space and privacy (sorry to the people who had to listen to me drone on).
