Multiple ex-police cars parked on California - what gives?

I've been curious about something for quite a while now: There's an area in West Seattle (near California and Andover intersection) where multiple ex-Police cars (i.e. police interceptors) are parked in the same spots consistently. Almost all of them have "Clubs" on the steering wheels, and some of them are very dirty and/or moss covered.

I'm assuming one person owns all these cars and lives somewhere in the area. I've never seen a 3 day+ "move your car" notice on any of them, yet they don't seem to move.

Anyone know the story with these cars?

I live close to there and I don't know, either. They moved them when the street was closed for the parade last summer, and then they were right back. I like to hope that they get some people to slow back down to the speed limit when they see them.

I grew up around the corner from there. There is one man that owns all of the vehicles and it seems like he uses them for storage when he runs out of places in his apartment (which I believe is on the west side of California Avenue). The only reason he hasn't had the "move your car" notices is because people seem to have gotten used to them being there and don't report him anymore. They used to report the cars all the time.

  5. This topic comes up about every 6 months. And as much as we have tried parking enforcement just ignores this guy. He has been doing it for at least 10 years that I know of.

  6. He USED to park them with large spaces in between so that 5 cars would take the space 8. I don't know if he's any better now.
