  1. Well this little guy was rough housing and fell and broke his front leg in 2 places. He is to young to be having pins put in him, so the arm had to come off.

FAT/FCAT could use some help to offset the costs of his surgery. Total is $650.00

You can call South Seattle Vet directly and put a donation on Mufasa's account. 206-242-8338

    Any help is appreciated.

  3. Mufasa's surgery went well and he is resting comfortably with his new foster mom, a nurse. His story is that he is from Skyway and was born feral. He was trapped and put into a West Seattle foster home with his siblings about a month ago at the age of 7 weeks. His older feral family was spayed/neutered and rereleased, where they are being cared for.

Donations can also be made in the FAF donation box on the cat cages at Next to Nature or on FAF's website through Paypal and are tax deductible(www.fafseattle.org).

Mufasa and his four siblings will be looking for new permanent and loving homes in a few weeks.

    Thank you for your support.

  4. Mufasa is lucky to have two great groups and so many people behind him, giving him a shot at a happy, healthy life!

  5. I was asked to upload this kitty's pic here, though I see it's Hammerhead's avatar.

Please note that you can use URLs for Flickr, Picasa, etc. photos as long as they are not wider than 500 pixels.

Just put the URL in the code between the quote marks.

Mufasa's foster mom here. He is doing great in his post-operative rehabilitation and has quickly adapted to living on 3 legs! His incision looks to be healing nicely with no complications and the little guy is being such a good sport about wearing his lampshade/collar and not fussing with his sutures!
The doctors at So.Seattle Vet. Hosp. did a great job. His unfortunate injury has put a real strain on the financial resources of his cat rescue groups and makes it difficult to help out other needy felines as FCAT and FAF are both fully all volunteer operations.
If Hammerhead's picture isn't Mufasa, I'll be darned cause it sure looks like him. As soon as I can get my battery re-charged, I'll try to get a current picture of him posted.

Post Turkey Update from post-surgery rehab foster home:.....Moofy Kitten is all done with his pain and antibiotic meds and can't wait to get his lampshade/collar off once his stitches are out. He is having a blast running around his foster home playing with the resident cat and big white doggie. He's super fast, confident and really cuddly. His affectionate nature is a true testament to the nurturing he got in his earlier foster home. Not all feral kittens are so happily socialized!!!

  11. A HUGE thank you to West Seattle! You once again have shown your love, compassion, and generosity towards our best friends. Mufasa's amputation surgery has been fully covered! Next step adoption. Mufasa will be looking for his permanent home just in time for the holidays. For now his siblings are at Next to Nature looking for theirs.

WOW! Mufasa's foster here, THANKS WEST SEATTLE AND EVERYONE FOR THE FINANCIAL SUPPORT! He is sooo worth it. He has totally recovered and is just waiting for his neuter and then adoption. He is super friendly with the resident cat and dog and is very snuggly and is a toasty lap cat when he is tired from playing. He will do best in an active household ( as an indoor only kitty ) and will hopefully have a friendly cat that he can play with. If you think you might be Mufasa's dream home, adoption applications are available at Next to Nature or on our website http://www.fafseattle.org ( click on the "you can help" tab and look for the link for Adoption Application). Thanks

12/11/11 Mufasa's foster mom here. He is having his neuter surgery today and will need a day or 2 to recover and then he is able to "go home". If you've been thinking about him but figuring that someone else has already adopted him.... you're mistaken! He is still available and can't wait to get settled into where he belongs!

  21. I just saw Mufasa this morning. He's adorable and full of life! It's amazing how well he has adjusted to missing his front leg. Wish I had a place for him in my home, but with two cats already, I think my husband would kill me if I brought home a third. I know there's someone out there for him. I have a feeling Mufasa is going to have a great new year!

  22. Thanks to the WSB and KOMO4.com, Mufasa had many many wonderful people interested in adopting him. Ultimately he could only go to one home and that he did today, right here in West Seattle! Much gratitude again to West Seattle for your support of this little guy.
