    Hi all-
I have it posted on the missing pet page but thought I should post it here also.

My little black cat is missing. Last scene on the 26th at my house on the corner of 40th and genesee. She is all black with a red undertone in her coat, she is wearing a red collar with a red bell. She answers to kitty and little one. She doesn't usually go to strangers but if you see her let me know. celestine18 at comcast dot net other contact info and picture on the pets page.

Not intending to be mean, just genuinely curious:
Celeste, your cat seems to go missing relatively often. I recall 2-3 other times. Is this cat outdoors most of the time, or an escape artist?

Hope she's not letting it run loose because of the coyotes in this area. They have been seen at times carrying small animals. they were here long before we were.

Sacatosh, She is an escape artist. You open the door to take the trash out out she slips. You take the cat to the vet and out she slips. We do our best to keep her inside but she loves to sniff around. She always stays near the house usually skimming the hedge and side yard.

My other cat is missing her something fearce. He is pacing and looking out the door and windows.

    Thanks for not taking offense.

Hammerhead can help with traps and whatnot. There was also a "how to find a lost cat" post here not that long ago that addressed canvassing the neighborhood, etc. She may be closer than you think. Our neighbor's cat was hiding under the (shared) porch we had looked under 15 times already. She was way in the front corner beneath the stairs.

Don't expect her to answer your call. If she's frightened she will hunker down really small and hide any light parts (white toes tucked under, eyes closed to slits, etc.)

    Good luck to you.

As I had to tell a neighbor a few days ago... Lots of coyotes about lately so be extra careful with your cats.

  12. I hope you find your kitty safe & sound.

Does your cat like catnip? Here is why I ask...
When I was a kid my family got a cat that also loved to sneak out the door every chance she could, even though we took her out with a harness and leash on a regular basis. Our cat loved catnip, so my mom planted a catnip plant right outside our back door. If our cat got outside (or rather, WHEN she got outside) she went right to the catnip plant and stayed put. We had plenty of time to get her- she no longer ran away because she was munching on the catnip. Sometimes it made her feisty, other times she was very lovey-dovey, but she was in her own little world and distracted from the fact that we had brought her back inside.
Also, we planted a tray of grass (oat grass?) for her to have inside.

Any luck finding your cat? Have a friend who feeds strays near the commons park in High Point. She's keeping her eyes open just in case.

Hi all, Well its been three weeks now and I fear little one is gone. I have been looking for her all around the area but no luck. We thought we heard her the other day but when I went out to look I didn't see her. I missed her yesterday when we got home she normally met us at the door (or if she was outside right at the top of the ramp to the backyard).

I'm so sorry -- and I'm here to offer words of hope -- with the amazing assistance of the incredibles (Pam and the folks from furry faces) we had happy outcomes for both the missing Katskys--noam found his way into a humane trap set up by Pam after 48 days and Spot pushed his way through a door that wasn't quite shut after 18 days.

It's good to be realistic, but it's really not time to give up.

    :-)

  19. Great idea about the cat-nip garden just outside the door.

Agree entirely with catnip garden -- just make sure the wily catotes (sic) have some in house too or they'll flee to get at it.
