I live in the Admiral District near Safeway. I just noticed that there's an abandoned wheelchair (looks like a basic one) in the alley behind my apt. building. If you're missing one, contact me @ mmfeelgood@gmail.com - I'll let you know where it's at.

I've also called the police, who will check it out, they said. I just figured that maybe someone somewhere will be missing it :(

It might have been abandoned. If you find it doesn't have an owner, Bridge Industries will take it, refurbish it and pass it on to someone in need. Goodwill also accepts durable medical equipment an will pass it on at a fair price.

thanks, rockhills. It just seemed strange, as it wasn't near any dumpsters, etc. Just kinda left by the side in some bushes. I'm near the highschool, and there are, I'm sure, a few troublemakers there, and thought maybe one or a few were out raising a little havoc. I just checked outside...looks like it's still there.

Jan - my soon to be mother-in-law has a handful of old wheelchairs around her house and yard in the North Admiral neighborhood.
Perhaps it took a ride to WSH from her place. :-)Posted 2 years ago # -
I may have to go out tomorrow and corral it...it's not the prettiest one in town, for sure...just a basic old wheelchair. Hey...I may need it someday - lol...

Im looking for a folding/collapsable wheelchair for my pet and service dog classes. Email me if its still available or anyone has an extra one sitting around the house not being used and is looking for a good home.
