If anyone here filled out their brackets, share your thoughts.

  2. Ohio State University vs. Duke and Kansas vs. Pitt. OSU over Pitt FTW. Just throwing darts at the bracket. :^)

My absolute FAVORITE time of the year. I'll weigh in later today... I'm still pouring over the matchups.

UW is going to have problems with Georgia's inside game. The Huskies will have to shoot the lights out to beat them. Sounds familiar?

I'm having trouble with the southeast. Pitt? OldD? can you ever count out Mich. St.? Izzo is a great tourney coach. Can BYU win after losing one of their stars?

The southeast just a little weird. I have Belmont beating Wisconsin and Utah State advancing to play Pittsburgh. Florida doesn't strike me as a No.2 seed and have UCLA beating them. I hate both Michigan State and Florida so there you go. Don't be sold on the fact how good Izzo is in tournament play. This current MSU team sucks and shouldn't even be in the dance. They are a very inconsistant team. I still got Pittsburgh barely making it out of that bracket by my own point system.

Jiggers - any big upsets in the first round?I see you like Belmont and everyone seems to like Oakland. Any suprises in the Elite 8? I also, like you, think Utah St. might suprise some people. You say you have your own point system, help me with UW, I think 1 win and done but my heart says elite 8. Need to take emotions out of it. I can't wait for this to start.

I really don't see any big upsets. I really think that the committie got this one right. All the top seeds are all that except I have Duke losing to Texas in the West. If Kyrie Irving were playing, I'd have Duke to win it all, he's that much of a difference maker. Texas plays outstanding defence and can score as well. UW doesn't have the inside strength to dominate. Maybe Wisconsin beats Belmont now that the public is heavy on Belmont.

F/Y/I/ My Final Four is Ohio State, Kansas, Pittsburgh & Texas.
I have Ohio State vs Kansas in the finals and the Buckeyes winning it all. What do I know right?

  10. I have KU and Syracuse in the final game with KU winning. I'm a Jayhawk so my bracket ends the same way every year!

I think it's real risky in playing Kyrie Irving for a host of reason. First off, he hasn't played all year and we don't know what type of game shape he's in physically or mentally. Another risk is that he may disrupt the rythm that Duke has right now who's been playing without him all year long. Coach K will use him wisely, but I would't start him personally. If Duke falls behind, watch out, he'll be coming in right away.

Did you catch that Butler/ODU game? Any other day of the year and I could give a crap about either team... but that was incredible! (I had ODU)

  19. Way to go Zags, Dawgs, and Badgers. Although my bracket has taken a beating. Moxilot, I had ODU too. I decided not to pick personal favorites, like the Zags and Marquette. Silly me.

I'll be watching Richmond vs Morehead State and Gonzaga vs BYU today. My whole West bracket pulled through correctly, but my East bracket took a beating and I missed one game each in the Southeast and Southwest brackets. Still in the hunt.

Well, the refs stripes WERE Carolina blue.
I'm waiting for the day when the NCAA has an East regional in Sacramento, with Cal and Stanford as the top seeds in that bracket, THEN I might concede that the East coast bias is fading.

  25. I have Duke and Kansas as the top two. Pitt's loss guarantees that I won't have guessed the final four. I am happy to see Marquette and Wisconsin advance and I am looking forward to the Butler-Wisconsin game.

Two less turnovers by the Dawgs and they would have advanced. I feel so sorry for Justin Holiday. Win as a team, lose as a team. Thanks for a great roller coaster ride Dawgs. See you next season. Can't wait.

Your a Hoosier RB!? My family comes from Boone County.
My Grandmother attended Butler until the flu epidemic of 1918. Unfortunately, she was never able to return.
The last Indiana team left to root for; Purdue choking didn't surprise, didn't REALLY think the Sycamores had a chance, and, of course, I was rooting against ND; way to go, FSU!

    dawson: lebanon, right?

i'm from the east side of indy, and i still have a lot of family there. so i was pretty happy when i moved here and discovered that one of my countrymen was the play-by guy for the sonics.

and the best play-by announcer in the biz, i might add. i used to watch the games on tee vee, but had to listen to collabro if it was on a national feed. most of the time, though, with him calling the game, you didn't even need to watch it.

    Uhh, it's pronounced Leb-dun, RB.
Yeah, that's the area. Let's see how good your geography is: my Mom is from Max, Dad is from Dover, cousins live outside of Thorntown.
Spent some of my best Summers as a kid on the banks of Sugar Crik.
Happy my parents had the foresight to raise us in Washington, but I sure enjoy returning for visits.

sugar creek. hmm. we had a sugar creek on the east side. i'm guessing it taint the same body of water.

don't know dover or thorntown, but i'll bet i heard the names on at least one tornado warning.

went to high school in fortville. went to college in muncie. and indy. and bloomington.

did some limestone work in bloomington, too. masonry is about the only thing i miss about that place - other than family, of course. i know where mellencamp lives, and i know some guys who worked on his house.

hey, maybe when you get your kitchen up and running you can make corn dogs and elephant ears. and that kind of schnitzel that hoosiers call tenderloin.

Oh YEAH! Fried tenderloin, a plate of fries and an ICE cold Bud (The only way to drink 'em is if your taste-"Buds" are completely numb).

Probably a different Sugar Creek. Mine starts near Tipton, and flows West into the Wabash. If you have ever been to Shades or Turkey Run State Parks, Sugar Creek runs through them.

I had folks down Brown County way (that's Hoosier for "I have relatives in that vicinity") who had a pair of German Shepards that were puppies of some of J.C.M.'s dogs. Seems he is just part of folks lives down around there.
Surprisingly pretty country (well, the Northern 1/3 of Indiana is pretty BORING country).

My 2011 NC2A BB Tourney Family bracket(s)have been blown to smithereens! To think, IF the playing field weren't expanded beyond the traditional 64 teams this year we would not have seen VCU! Next weekend, VCU will play another "Cinderella/fella team BUTLER in the FINAL FOUR... WOW! What a GREAT weekend for College Basketball Players & their Fans!

I had two of four (Butler and UConn.) Both games Saturday were nail biters (if I had any nails left). They could almost make me a fan.

"Final Four" games are Saturday -- an interminable wait.

BTW, Butler has an interesting history: Founded in 1855 as integrated by race and gender. If only Indiana had retained its practical progressivism.
