Making friends in odd places

  1. As strange as it may seem, i have had the privilege of meeting many a nemesis on the forum face to face... and for the most part they are surprisingly nice people.

    today, Jan and i had lunch with jiggers... who turns out to be this really sweet intelligent well read guy who managed not to make a single sexist remark throughout lunch.

    sorry jiggers.. i will never be able to read your posts again without seeing the smile that crinkles all of the way into your eyes..
    your cover is blown ;->

    we are thinking of trying to make lunch an irregular thing and wondered if anyone else is interested.

    i think Charlabob can be coerced ..
    anyone else interested?

    jiggers cracks me up, and most people that even I see (I am extremely cynical, libertarian, opinionated, and a touch anarchist) as funny are good people, no matter what statements they make.

    This just goes to show that the old saying is true.... don't judge a book by its cover, or forum comments by their statements, there are people beneath the "comments".

  3. Yes, please count me in! It is always SO nice to actually meet the faces behind the "screen names." :)

    WSB folks need to have MORE get together s - whether large or small organized, or spur of the moment.

  4. If you ever have a lunch on a weekend, I'd love to join you.

  5. I too would enjoy joining. Lunch would be fine or even just coffee/tea or desert.

  9. I would love to see a gathering over coffee or lunch or something like that. Many of the past gatherings have been at bars, and I'm not a drinker and don't particularly like a bar atmosphere, so I'm rarely inclined to go to those.

    It was a great lunch and not enough time to chat about everything that's been going on in our lives. Two hours went like that. This should have been done a while back. Another get together on a monthly basis would be alright by me. Job.. got me to crawl out of my cave which is hard to do by anybody and I mean anybody. I'm glad she gave forth the effort to understand what I've been dealing with all my life. Thanks to both of you JoB and Jan..:)
