Someone told me that there was a lunch wagon on 35th somewhere serving Hawaiian style food. Anybody know for sure where it is and what time day they are out? I'm dying for some loco moco or hamburger steak with rice with gravy all over..:)

Is it like every third Saturday that they are there on 35th?

  8. well, it's usually EVERY Saturday. however, last week was another one of those 'Mobile Chowdowns', and the week before that was 4th of July, so they took a holiday, thinking that everybody was grilling all weekend... (paraphrased from their FB updates)
they promised to be back on the 17th

I actually went to one of those 'Mobile Chowdows' where they had just about every food truck in town parked in a big dirt lot over in Interbay. But the lines were longer than at the Louvre!

Some of those trucks no doubt have some tasty morsels. But not having grown up in Soviet Russia, I can't say there's any street food for which I'd be willing to stand on line in a dirt lot for an hour.

I find that if you hit the Marination Mobile towards the end of their stay at 35th and Graham you can usually walk right up.

  10. oh definitely. we went to the Interbay mobile chowdown too, and the line for marination was crazy.
since we get a twice monthly fill of incredible tacos and sliders, we opted to try a meaty sandwich and soup (both were very, very tasty) from an orange food truck from Everett (during the Interbay chowdown). the name of the truck escapes me, but those chowdowns are a good opportunity to try stuff from the food trucks that aren't usually nearby. and we always meet and compare notes with friendly foodies as well.

I missed Mobile Chowdown due to not being able to leave WSSF, but reports are coming in about Spudnicks (Portland) being killer, and also Parfait, which is an artisan ice-cream truck.

Following the trucks on Twitter is the best way to stay in touch.

...and I like the lines: you meet other foodies and find out about other trucks, etc. good times.

Marination is YUMALICIOUS, the Korean beef tacos are awesome...I have to admit being semi-addicted...Saturday around a 11:00 my husband says I get a look in my eye...he's knows we're leaving soon.

The look also occurs when I think of Full Tilt's Rocky Road with oreo cookies

  13. Also FYI since Marination is the only food truck regularly visiting West Seattle, we always have their status in the calendar if something changes. They let us know they were skipping two Saturdays and we published an update here. They did indeed vow to be back this Saturday.

    They're at

Also if you haven't heard, the Molly Moon truck will be at Coastal on Alki tomorrow (Friday) 4-7 pm

and if you missed the brief debacle the other night, remember that if you see Buns on Wheels tomorrow at Don Armeni

they are NOT serving the public, just doing an invited-guests-only thing to get photos

Highland Park Sunday Market is taking this Sunday off because many vendors are at White Center Jubilee Days.

Last Sunday Street Treats was at the HP market

not sure if they'll be back next time.

    Thanks for the update, TR.

We need more food trucks. Portland has tons. Portland also has good public transit but I digress. Does Skillet ever come here? What about the famed falafel truck? Parfait needs to come here. I am also addicted. I came pretty close to missing my family reunion this weekend to go to Marination. It's still iffy.
