   I googled and only got landscape for big projects. I'm looking to retire soon and I just don't want the maintenance of my current yard. I'm looking for someone to help me go to a low maintenance, low water, low cost yard. Any suggestions? Thank You

   I'd be interested in the same suggestions. Just dont have the time or energy to put into lawn maintenance any longer.

   Probably depends on how big your yard is, what your current landscaping has in it, and how 'natural' vs. 'landscaped' you want your yard to look. One option for low water/low maintenance would be replacing your grass with a no-mow and drought resistant plant like clover.

   By accident I found that ignoring my strawberry beds. doing none of the "required" thinning and transplanting and fertilizing, I have I think a nearly weed proof ground cover that only needs a little water from May through June to supply lots of strawberries. The rain the rest of the year is sufficient.

   I plan to transplant a couple dozen onto the top level of my rockery and let them colonize the dandelion plantation below.

   Maybe it will work. I intend to make it a low maintenance experiment.
