Our cat escaped last night. He is about 9 pounds, all black except a small white patch on his throat and stomach. His name is Buster. He is an indoor cat so he is probably scared and hiding.

If you see him, please reply to this forum. See our ad on Craigslist:

    Any info would be helpful.

I passed 61st and Beach Drive not 10 minutes ago (11:10 am on Mon), and noticed an Animal Control truck parked by the parking area for the condos that are built over the water. The Animal Control employee was heading into the covered parking area with a towel, as though she was going to collect an animal...could be any animal, but you might give them a call and see if it was your cat they were picking up.

Good luck, I hope Buster is reunited with you soon!

    Hi Lost_Kitty.

You are correct...since Buster is an indoor cat, he is most likely hunkered down somewhere in your yard. Here are a few suggestions and thoughts:
    1. We will loan you one of our humane traps and show you how to use it; where to place it, etc.
    2. If possible, leave your door open, as many cats will run inside for safety.
    3. Start feeding Buster outside, near the door, calling his name when you put the food out--then move away from the dish. Put the food where you can see him if he eats, but he cannot necessarily see you.
    4. Crawl through your yard/surrounding area, looking under every bush, porch, etc. You want to be at your cat's eye level...where would you hide if you were a cat? Then...look up..he may have found safety in a tree.
    5. Ask ajoining neighbors if you can search their yard in the same way.
    6. Check Missing Pet Partnership's website for more suggestions on indoor cats that have gotten outside: http://www.missingpetpartnership.org/recovery-displacedcat.php

Please call or email us if you would like to borrow one of our humane traps. We could get a trap to you sometime tonight, or tomorrow. furryfaces@hotmail.com or 206-321-4729

Thanks for your thoughts and ideas. A neighbor found Buster and was able to call us thanks to a flier we put up.

When I was out looking I too saw the Animal Control truck. The officer had an animal wrapped up in a towel and I thought the worst but it was a seagull with a broken wing =(

All is well now Buster has been fed and is now sleeping (no doubt dreaming about his outdoor adventures). Thanks again!
