Looking for local pest control company recommendations

  1. Please pass on the name (and number if it's handy) of someone or a company in west Seattle or near-by that has performed well for you in the past.

There is an issue at one of my rental properties that I need help with.

Thanks in advance for your assistance!!!

  3. We used John at Adept Pest Solutions and were completely satisfied. He's very knowledgeable, polite, and reasonably priced.

  4. sbre: Call Frank w/All Pro Pest Control, he's located in White Center and a really nice guy. (206) 762-3959.

He's done some work for us at one of our rental properties and also our home. His prices were less than I anticipated and he calendared follow-up to make sure the issues were resolved completely. I'd definitely call him again.

  5. Please try not to make your rental pest problem your neighbors pest problem. The landlords next to mine did. I own a house that has been rat free for 8+ years until the neighboring property (a rental) rid themselves of their rat problem by pushing it on to my property. I saw the workers cleaning out the rat nests from the crawl space and a few days later . . . my house was infested. I have done all I can to kill, detract, and disinfect my home of the problems the previous tenant (and the landlord) created. If you are looking for a true solution - make sure they KILL the problem before it becomes a problem for others. For a long term solution, contract with Terminix.

  6. sbre- It is only fair for you to tell readers what the pest problem is. Roaches are one thing, feral cats another. Not sure what kind of "pests" you are referring to.

  7. Good morning and thank you all for you input and inquiries.

Speaking with a few people about the little, itsy-bitsy, super-tiny white things that are slowly moving around in the tenants kitchen, the general consensus is that they are bird-mites.

When writing the original post I had no idea or guesses as to what they could be, never seen them before. However a couple of hours from now we’ll have trained eyes on them and a solution in the works. For that apartment and all the others in the building.

Again thanks for your help and stay cool during this extra-warm weekend.

Did they have birds, sbre? Just as another thought - because I had no idea what I was dealing with at first - if it looks like moving white dust (that multiplies), also consider some kind of grain mite. I had some come in on a bad bag of corn-based cat litter once. Apparently it can have many plant-based sources and is pretty easy to deal with yourself if you get it quickly. But since it looks like dust, it doesn't draw attention until there's more and you look verrrry closely to see that some are moving ever-so-slowly.

I own a pest control company and bird mites are extremely rare to find in one's home, especially in a kitchen. What's more common is some sort of beetle. Though beetles are generally black or brown in color, their larva is white. We generally see drugstore beetles or cigarette beetles in kitchens. You may want to look around a bit and see if you see any beetles....look carefully though as they are pretty small.
