trickycooljParticipantI’ve seen a Curves on California towards Admiral, but haven’t passed it during business hours. I believe the Southwest Pool (near Westwood Village) was trying out some women’s only swim sessions, not sure if they’re still doing that. Even so, when I attended water aerobics at Madison Pool up in North Seattle it was pretty much all women anyway.

Pamela JensenMemberI have been going to Curves on and off for 11 years. I feel better when I am “on”. My favorite things are: there are all kinds of shapes, sizes, ages and everyone supports each others accomplishments and the workouts are innovative and changing (like Jillian workouts -which kick my butt). Their smart workout is calibrated to each person’s fitness level and encourages you to work harder and get stronger. While this sounds like a commercial, I am not a paid sponsor and have received no compensation for this review lol but I love the Curves on California Avenue.

jjlabriolaMemberwhile its not a womens only gym per se, I recommend Straight Blast Gym in North Delridge…I started Women Warrior (a women’s only strength and conditioning class) last year, it is a positive and supportive environment. You can call Sonia at 420-1834 and make an appointment for a free eval: they are great, there is no hard sell).

bellvyParticipantAm a huge Curves fan, too. Have been going for several years now –its the only way I can keep my weight stable! I call it my No Excuse Gym. Get a great workout in half hour, rain or shine, hot or cold. You make it what you want–use the computer program or not, do the extra Jillian or Body Basics classes or not, talk to people or not, weigh in or not. Trained coaches are there at all times–if I am going to work out I want to do it right!
