Looking for a Vet in West Seattle

  1. My wife and I are looking to getting a new puppy and all that entails - one item being a good vet. Any suggestions?

  2. Not exactly West Seattle, but South Seattle Vet 242-8338.

Very reasonable compared to ANY vet in the West Seattle area.

    Good Luck

  3. I recommend Dr. Waterhouse at South Lake Union Veterinary clinic to all my local puppy families, and take my own dogs to him as well.

His office is only a 10 minute drive from West Seattle, and I really think he's worth it. Patient, caring, thorough, and up on all the latest research and techniques.

    My dogs go to Lien:

They mostly see Dr. Fisher but have seen Dr. Kraabel and Fritzler. We've always been happy.

I recently revisited Greentree Animal Hospital and was very pleased. I would go there again for sure.

Lien is excellent and has a number of vets to choose from.

South Seattle Vet is open 7 days a week (pricing is best around). New puppy plans are available too for shots and such at South Seattle Vet and may be everywhere but I don't know.

  6. I have been pleased with many of the vets in West Seattle. We use West Seattle Animal Hospital in Jefferson Square on Alaska and 42nd. Dr. Johnson and the other vets have treated us and our pets extremely well.

The VCA on California was excellent in their care too of our older dog. I miss her.

For emergencies after hours I go to South Seattle Animal Hospital.

  7. I second Dr. Waterhouse. I was thinking the drive would be difficult but it really is about 10.15 minutes away. We take all four pets there. I am not sure about pricing. I guess there is also a place in Federal Way that has really awesome pricing if you research previous threads. I can't remember the name but if I can find it I will post later.

  8. I am a self-proclaimed crazy dog lady with unreasonably high standards for my dogs' care and I love all the vets at Lien Animal Clinic. They're conveniently located on Alaska, just off Fauntleroy.

BigSky, I think it's great that you're actually planning for your new addition in a responsible way. Too many people, especially young ones, get an animal on impulse - which then ends up on the street or at the pound a few months later. Sounds like you've really thought it through. Good luck with your new furball, whatever it might be!

  10. The place in Federal Way is Vets for Less and they do have great prices and take good care of their patients. Based on some comments and info I have learned lately I think I'm going to try West Seattle Animal Hospital though, Federal Way is kind of a long drive.

  11. I don't have a dog, but my cat goes to West Seattle Animal Hospital and they've been great; very caring and attentive. He had to have surgery a couple of years ago and they did a wonderful job.

  12. Took my cat in to South Seattle Vet Clinic this week to get a shot: $12! No appointment. No extra charge for an office visit. No long wait. No assistant - I saw a real vet. I did have a coupon off their web site. They were great. I noticed they do have special rates for "puppies" and "kittens."

Dr. Robertson at West Seattle Animal Hospital (near Jefferson Square) was wonderful to my dog her whole life...including surgery for cancer (which she survived), suggesting naturapathic medicines during her old age, and finally in our final visit. I take my younger dog and two cats to him also.

  16. Lien Animal Clinic is a great spot! Dr. Kraabel is our vet but we have also seen most of the other vets there between our dogs and cats over the years. The staff are all very kind and fabulous with pets. Here's a link to their bios: http://www.lienanimal.com/vets.html
