Hey I'd love to discuss the specs and see if this would work for me. I have a car but I am also going to school. You can email me at jordanroark15@hotmail.com if you want to discuss it in more depth

Um...more importantly, why can't you drive? Is it the lack of a car?
Posted 1 year ago # -
Yes it is lack of a car, this is why its only for a month.

I don't need questions like that thank you very much

Actually Cedric - that was a very smart question. You're asking someone to let you be in their personal vehicle, which adds an element of liability, and to get chauffeured around. I'd certainly want to know what circumstances led to this request, regardless of what you're willing to pay.
You probably shouldn't be so defensive for someone looking for a service like this, especially if you take in to consideration that you could likely hire a car service to do something like this.

well there is always Zipcar if you haven't already explored that option.

Or, for as much as it sounds like you are willing to pay... Enterprise will get you there.

Does the job involve waiting outside with the motor running while these "meetings" take place?

forget i asked. I dont want a driver i will figure it out all i asked was for a simple request and that person would of been paid but no i am stuck dealing with trolls

Wow Cedric - testy much?
Posted 1 year ago # -
Maybe that was the best question for anyone that MAY have been considering this for you then. I can only imagine if anonymous comments upset you...

1) it's not kosher to tell other posters to "stfu" on here, Cedric86, - though now I see that's been edited from your last comment - and 2) I'd hardly call the responders trolls...you have to admit that yours is not only an odd request, but it's cloaked in enough mystery to make folks wonder.

as a single female, and you being "Cedric", I'm assuming, a male...I would want to know a whole lot, too, before I would allow you, a stranger, into my vehicle. It's perfectly natural for us to ask these kinds of questions, since you didn't volunteer the information. As a salesman, you know that what you say and how you say it is important. Please chill a bit, and think about your approach. Thanks

Cedric, it is a valid question.
and by the way, just so you know - NO ONE is above being questioned, so take a freakin' chill pill. I will ask what I please (as long as it is within the rules of the WSB Forums, of course) thank you very much.
Try speaking to someone like that in person and see how far or where it gets you. I always find it amazing what people will write behind the safety net of their computer.

Cedric - All of the responses to your proposition are either totally valid questions or constructive suggestions. Your level of defensiveness and hostility combined with the vagueness of your request virtually guarantee that you have probably alienated anyone who was even remotely thinking about helping you.

By far the best "interviewing your potential employer" session I've ever witnessed.

OK, so Cedric's request sounded sketchy and needed more information... and the tone with which the information was requested was rather unwelcoming... Moving on?
There seems to be a rather unwelcome feel to the boards lately that I find really off-putting even as a seasoned contributor to these forums. I'm sure Cedric was anticipating questions, but I have to say I would have felt judged from the outset too from the way they were asked. I'm willing to assume that maybe a tone of genuine curiosity was lost in translation but being cautious does not have to mean being so abrupt. Plus this could have also gone ignored like so many other posts that never see comments. Was this just an opportunity to poke fun at the new kid?

Personally, Cait, my question wasn't meant to lead to anything but an answer. (And aside from this post, I do see what you are referring to, we seem a little snarky lately.)
No car, okay, question answered. It was the aggressive response that lead to any following comments in my opinion. It wasn't really a normal response you have to admit. Unless of course this is a young person who has been plugged into an iPod for so long that they have no social skills - just sayin'.

I will admit after re-reading it looks like I missed a little something. I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels like I'm living in snarkville... I think it has me on edge.
Part of me wants to be nice to the new blood since we are nearing on campaign season and all us 2008 holdouts already know how everyone else feels about everything. LOL.

AND I think, by and large, people of my generation have a difficult time writing congenially. It's no excuse, but a consideration.

Cait...nice can happen at any age...

I like to flatter myself and think that I'm nice most of the time... but I try not to look too far into my behavioral backlog... LOL.

I have a car but it's not much fun; how about we buy a motorcycle 50/50 and at the end I'll keep it for myself? one nice side effect is when we're done I'll be safe again driving a 2 wheeler: I did not ride for the last 15 years but I used to be real good; and as the saying goes "you never forget about it; just like bicycling".
