Local Wedding Venues?

  1. My Fiance and I are planning our wedding and we would like to have our reception in West Seattle, where we live and grew up. We're looking at the Hall at Fauntleroy and the Sanctuary at Admiral. Any other good (non-religious) venues for about 175 guests around here?

  2. Hey, Mac, congrats!!!!

We have had a LOT of threads here lately about venues for events and meetings. One of my favorites is the Camp Long Lodge, though that might be a little too small (even post-renovation) for 175. Same probably so for Highland Park Improvement Club, but if the group shrinks, might be worth a look.

Looking at a few of the old threads, Alki Bathhouse and Hokum Hall also come up. And there's the ever-popular Masonic Hall at 40th/Edmunds.

  3. I just talked to the Highland Park Improvement Club folks for an orchestra concert we're planning in May - they said they have tables and chairs for 200.

The VFW Hall on Alaska. I have been there for two wedding receptions.

Salty's on Alki. If you meet their food and drink minimum they don't charge rental for the room, so it ends up being comparable to the Hall and the Sanctuary. I had my reception there last September and couldn't be happier.

  8. We had our reception at Youngstown Cultural Arts Center (old Cooper School) on Delridge. It was pretty great and very reasonable too!

  9. I went to a wedding at the Sanctuary at Admiral a few months ago and LOVED the venue. Very cool setup. I've been married almost 6 years now and had serious venue envy, wishing I had gotten married there myself! :)

They have a sunken area where they set up the chairs and aisle, with an elevated area around it with a railing overlooking the sunken area. We had wine and apps before the ceremony started, then they instructed us to take our seats, had the ceremony, and then we all migrated back to the elevated area for cocktail hour while they brought in tables and set up the ceremony area for dinner.

    Congrats, and good luck!

  10. Money not a concern Saltys or the H.A.F.

On a tighter budget, WS golf Course Hall and Bar should hold your number. Call JR at 935-5187. Tons of parking a plus, and you save by bring your own bevs!

Lower yet, tons of room at the Masonic Temple, between the old Huling Brothers and Bank of America. Again big saving with BYOB and catering which I had done by Husky Deli, they deliver and find catering help from SSCC culinary program. Again you save big $$$$, and still have a great reception.

  11. We had our reception at the Hall at Fauntleroy in May. It was a great experience, I would highly recommend that place. Food was terrific and service was solid.
