WOW, here is a deal of deals if you are a sea food lover. Fresh Maine Lobsters - flown in fresh, live or cooked while you wait for $10 per pound.
.
Where? West Seattle Thriftway on Friday 3/4 ONLY, in their parking lot under a tent next to the front door. I was told this a special promotion put on by the WS Thriftway owner and the lobster is being sold AT COST.
.
Quite interesting to see even if you don't buy. They also have a good selection of fresh clams and oysters out in the tent.
.
They have a huge propane powered boiling pot if you decide on a cooked lobster.

Thanks for the heads up Kevin. I have a place in Maine that I usually order from directly. But at this price I'll get them locally (if they have any left by the time I get there).

Sounds like a trip to the local Asian market is in order.

All I can say is, DANG! We sure missed a good one. Wish we'd known about it earlier in the day. Does Thriftway have an email list or something to notify people of events like this?

Ditto Wolfie.

Hi guys! Yes we do, newly instated actually. Go to our website, westseattlethriftway.com and go to our contacts page. There will be a short form to fill out, basically: name, email yes or no....and it will be moderated by yours truly. All personal info is kept under lock and key.
We had several dozen left that were freshly cooked at 6 p.m. when I left today, they can be found in our meat dept. They will be the same price tomorrow (only cooked) until we run out.

the only complaint i have is that thriftway places that and other promotional booths on a handicapped parking space..
the lobster was wonderful.

@thriftwaygirl - Do you post these on your Facebook page too? Because I didn't see this deal appear there.

JoB - Whenever we take one handicapped spot, we put another in its place immediately next to the closest handicapped spot. (We actually have a couple extra handicapped sign posts we keep in the back room for this specific purpose). I am glad you liked the lobster (and may I add, I would love to meet you formally!)
hopey - I posted something earlier today about it on our facebook page, if it did not show I will have to recheck some settings.

thriftway girl...
i didn't see that yesterday...
perhaps i will have to look more closelyPosted 1 year ago # -
I assure you there was, I put it away this morning.

thriftwaygirl, regarding the handicapped spot and the promotions in the parking lot, I have noticed that you put out another spot when the other is taken away, but one thing to keep in mind is that the regular handicapped spots usually are wider and/or have the extra space between them. If you make a "regular" space into a handicappd spot, it usually has no extra loading/unloading space, and for me, that's actually more important for getting in and out of the car than the proximity to the front door.

Sue, you are very correct. We are very conscious of our handicapped customer's needs whenever the outdoor promotions take place.
We have a supply of parking cones we use for that specific purpose. When we make a "new spot" we use two regular parking slots to make one really large one to accommodate for the extra space needed. And please, if you ever do have issue we want to hear from you so it can be addressed and resolved.
