Schmitz Park DadParticipantWe received a letter from a broker with initials PP with Berkshire Hathaway Realty stating that he has a buyer interested in buying our home. Not sure if this guy is for real or just fishing for a listing.
Curious if anyone else has received a letter like this from a broker with Berkshire?

miwsParticipantSomeone at the Forum Picnic, yesterday, mentioned getting letters like that from BH.
They mentioned it’s the type of letter that seems personalized, but is basically a form letter.
So, sounds like you are not alone.

skeeterParticipantProbably just marketing. But if you’re thinking about selling no harm in calling the number to see if there really is a buyer.
Rents are really high right now so I suspect there are a lot of renters who have run the numbers and decided to buy.

alicekuderParticipantI’m not PP, but I am a broker with Berkshire Hathaway and I have been sending out similar letters. I DO have an actual client/buyer looking for the type of home I’m mailing to (PP probably does to). I can’t swear that every such letter is legit, but most are. The letters serve a dual purpose. First, it can be an effective way to find a home for a buyer who has been looking (unsuccessfully) for quite a while but can’t seem to find anything that fills all their needs. Second, sometimes we get lucky and find someone who is thinking of selling but hadn’t yet contacted an agent. I hope this is helpful information.

Mike GainMemberI too am with Berkshire Hathaway and about to send out a similar letter. I really do have a buyer and can’t find the right home for them. Our inventory of homes for sale in West Seattle is at an all time low especially in certain neighborhoods. It will be the same letter going out to specific select properties. I am not mailing to get another listing. I am mailing to try and find a home for my buyer. Again, I do have a Buyer. They have sold their home in West Seattle and need to find a home to move to. They will be all cash purchasers. Mike Gain

millerab6ParticipantWe are looking to buy and not a lot of luck with what is on the market right now. Our agent said he was going to do something similar (not PP though). And if you see this and are interested in selling, please contact me. :) We are hoping to stay in Fairmount Park school boundary. millerab6 @ gmail . com

maryjoMemberFunny I received the same letter. My home was on the market and the SAME (NOT SO)’smart’ agent who sent me the letter actually gave me a low ball offer on my home just weeks ago. He obviously didn’t do his homework as he was sending out random letters. Where was his ‘client’ when our house was actually for sale?????He is one agent I would never use from Berkshire Hathaway. not too credible of an agent in my opinion.

AdmiralJanewayParticipantYesterday I had a phone message from an agent who said he had a buyer if I was interested in selling. But the message was so general, it made me think he wasn’t talking about MY house.

dhgParticipantMaryjo, to be fair, situations change quickly. That agent may have a lowball buyer one day and a high roller the next, both looking at the same property.

maryjoMemberJust to be clear dhg it was the actual agent who made the low ball offer on our home. Not a client. It was just a bit strange that he would then send us a letter weeks after we sold our house that he now has a buyer for our home. He just
Wasn’t thinking and didn’t do his homework is all
