  1. This event isn't IN West Seattle, but benefits two local cat rescues, Friends of the Animals Foundation and Feral Cat Assistance & Trapping.

Saturday, December 11th from 6-8pm at the Foster/White Gallery, 220 Third Ave S. 98104 (near 3rd and Main)

Cheese, wine, and chocolate reception with music and art in support of the cats. FAF and FCAT often work together to battle cat overpopulation, reducing the number of abandoned or homeless cats, through spay/neuter, and finding loving homes free of abuse or neglect.

There is no charge to attend, however a donation that night will be much appreciated. Details can be found at both http://www.fafseattle.org and http://www.feraltrapping.com (links on home pages).

We hope you can join us!

This will be a great opportunity to learn more about these two 100% volunteer based organizations and meet two very amazing women who work tirelessly to rescue, foster, adopt, spay/neuter, educate and so much more - and yes, they have a full-time jobs on top of all of this!

They are "supported" by volunteers that clean cages and litter boxes, launder cat beds and blankets, and provide love and comfort to the cats/kittens while they await their forever home.

Please join us and/or consider donating via the websites if you can not make it to the event. Thanks!

  7. The Cray Cat Lady calendars are in. Yours truly is in it. It shows that NOT all women who help cats are the gray hairs ladies with an over grown yard. LOL

You can go to http://www.feraltrapping.com and but on line.

  8. We have been contacted by a generous WSB forum member who has never attended one of our events, but is planning to come on Saturday. *love that!* To encourage others like him/her, this member has offered to match up to $200 in donations by other folks from the blog.

Everyone will receive a donation card that night; just write "WSB" on one of the corners to let us know that you want to be part of this offer! Note, you do NOT have to identify yourself by your member/user name ;)

Again, event invitations with details are on the FAF and FCAT websites through the links above. Hope to see you all there - and THANK YOU to everyone.

JanS, you're a wonderful presence here. I've wanted to say that for quite some time now.
Hey, by the way, what is your new avatar saying? I've been wondering for awhile, but haven't felt comfortable asking.

  26. It went well, other than the rain. I wouldn't go out in this crap either. It was good turn out despite the rain. There are videos of the presentation on FAF and FCAT face book page.

    Thanks West Seattle

  27. The venue could not have been more elegant. I so admire the work of these two organizations wish I had more to give! The art was first class too.

The music was tasteful, as were the chocolates (yum). The picture presentation helped me to face this difficult business of abandoned cats, with a positive hopeful feeling. Moments to remember for sure.

The results do speak, not only do some of these rescue cats and kittens find new homes, by sterilizing so many cats every year, future unwanted thousands are prevented from ending up in shelters.

Hope you do it again next year (or sooner). Class act. Thank you, thank you thank you!

  28. It was a great night despite the deluge! The question has come up from folks that couldn't make it, so YES, you absolutely can still make a donation online or by mail. Links above have info for either. A special thank you to those who noted "WSB" on their donation card - and the donor who matched them too :)
