Why is 10-12 years old too young to run an errand? When I was 7 I was allowed to walk/ride my bike to school and the library unattended.
I recently had a conversation with a couple of fathers about our childhoods vs today – when we were kicked out of the house on a Saturday after breakfast and not seen again until dinner-time. I know the Mom’s in the neighborhood kept tabs on us and called each other, but today’s constant supervision was non-existent.
And I was trusted with a $10 bill (it would be a $20 today) to run to the grocery store to grab a few things for dinner.
What has changed?
