...at Missing Pet Partnership's Community Social and Discussion this Saturday, September 17th, from 10 am - 11:30. Enjoy morning nibbles and beverages while hearing about success stories, talking with like-hearted people, and learning new skills.

Kat Albrecht, Founder of Missing Pet Partnership (MMP), is looking forward to meeting West Seattleites and sharing techniques on how to find lost dogs and cats. Wouldn’t it be cool to have an entourage of West Seattle folks that can help find missing pets? What a kind, caring gift of support to our friends and neighbors!

Here is a great interview with Kat!

Is there any chance that part of the discussion will include coyote relocation because those pets aren't coming back.

I've been thinking along similar lines but afraid to say so. I'm not quite sure I understand the purpose of the group. Is education on preventing pet loss a part of it? Because anyone who allows their pet (especially cats) to roam freely will almost certainly find themselves in this situation at some point. Unfortunately, it is the pet who will suffer most.

  7. I too have been afraid to say something. While I think it is would be a better solution for dogs, as for cats, yes they most likely have been hit by a car or as velo nut says lunch. Sad but true. You have to deal with the consequences of letting your cats out.

I understand why you are afraid to say it out loud. It's very important for people who have lost a pet to keep hope alive that they will return, and on an optomistic note, it is possible. BUt the very real situation is that we have alot of coyotes in west seattle and they love cats and I get so sad seeing all the lost pet signs everywhere. SO now i just have to say wake up people--tough love (of pets) and empathey for your loss because I also lost a tame pet to the wildlife

marianne: Thank you for asking. The Social Hall is underneath the main chapel. We will have street signs with arrows to help folks find it.

babalou,velo_nut, anonyme, hammerhead: Thank you for you comments. Kat does discuss coyotes and many other important issues. We encourage you to check out their website to learn more about what they do http://www.missingpetpartnership.org/index.php and to attend this community social to hear Kat speak. Cheers, F3
