   I didn't know about this county-wide election, so I'm posting here in case others didn't, either. To vote, you'll have to go to one of these places:

   (Mark Sollitto, endorsed by the King County Conservation Voters, was left off the ballot, and is running as a write-in. Apparently voter turn-out is so low in this election (hmm, I wonder why? Maybe because they don't tell anyone there's an election?) a write-in can win fairly easily.)

   I produced elections for two tv stations here in town, follow politics fairly closely, and have never, in my 18 years of living here, heard of this. Wow. Going to do a bit more research and then put that one on the HP. Thanks, Julie.

   And as I am learning doing some research for the HP post, the district is even involved here in West Seattle, with Longfellow Creek restoration ... probably much more ...

   The above indicates that conservation does not mean what you and I think it means in King County.

   The rcw above indicate that the commission chooses the polling places and counts the votes.

   What a deal!

   The commission shall fix the date of the election, designate the polling places, fix the hours for opening and closing the polls, and appoint the election officials. The election shall be conducted, the vote counted and returns canvassed and the results published by the commission.
