Will anyone be joining the festivities all day tomorrow, Friday, 05/21 for winning the KEXP Hood2Hood competition during their last fundraiser?

Sounds like it's going to be a blast! Music at Cupcake Royale, hip hop at Youngstown (also a photography display too), live music at Feedback Lounge, etc.

Yep, taking tomorrow off for my husband's birthday and a day of music. Two must-sees for me are Caspar Babypants (even though it's "kids' music") and Damien Jurado. SIFF's also starting, of course, and the Admiral will have some of the films this year.

Definitely! I'm so excited our Hood day is finally here that I'm only working a half day and will spend my afternoon / evening meandering. I'm surprised there's not more advertising about it though...

Woohoo other people! I've got to work a full 8 :( I'm going to try to visit all the venues, it shouldn't be very difficult.

  5. I won't be there but my husband and toddler are very excited to see Caspar Babypants. watch out, those songs can get stuck in your head- I've spent many a day at work singing the baby bear song, the spider song where you drop and/or change the first letter of all the words...

LOL sam-c! I'm most excited to see Brent Amaker and The Rodeo at Shadowlands at around 10pm. I've been meaning to make a show and always fail to do so.

Oh that's going to be a great show Lazybeard. I'm surprised it's at Shadowland though... you'd better get there fast before it fills up!

Gonna be great! Don't forget about the shows down at Skylark that night. Tripwires, F@ucking Eagles, and Hotels are all awesome! And it's free, as always.

Definitely will be a crazy scene for Brent Amaker at the crazy tiny "stage" at Shadowland!

The whole day should be a blast!

I'll be renting a lens from Glazer's and using it all night long I hope. I hope my memory cards fill up and my batteries die tomorrow night!

I don't know if Ballard's challenge win celebration was held on a Friday, but I'm kind of bummed that the majority of this event is going to be during the day, whilst I'm at work. I'm guessing a few of the other people that donated to KEXP to help get this event in our hood might also be at work... just a guess. I was really pushing my pals and workmates and had a couple posts on the blog to try to get this event in WS and I would love to be able to attend some of the daytime junction fun, boo hoo. Yes, I am aware that there will be nighttime shows, but that is nothing out of the ordinary. Oh well, have fun everyone!

Auntesocial & other KEXP donators - thank you for getting this here! Just heard The Lights - good stuff.

Turn on your radios peeps and expand your musical horizons! This is good for WS businesses, so get down to The Junction when you can. KEXP members are getting discounts all over!

Be good hosts to our visitors and tell them where the good
places to hang out and eat in The Junction are. Those Cap
Hill and Ballard peeps look a little lost ;).

Enjoy! And thanks again KEXP donators!

[Edit: noting that the three hour limit in free lots is being enforced. I just a tow truck arrive. So, heads up.]

Did anyone else try the energy gummy bears those guys were handing out? Those things pack quite a whallup!

We were giving them out at Shadowlands too, to power through the rest of the night ;)

From the festivities I caught at Youngstown, Easy Street & Shadowlands, I thoroughly enjoyed it!
