I am also posting this in the sell, trade, etc ... forum ... I am hoping people can share their thoughts on juicers. There are quite a few on the market, and it would be a good idea to see what people have to say, what they have used and have worked, etc ... Thanks

I just got the Breville compact juicer from Crate and Barrel about 6 months ago. I did lots of research and love it. It does not keep the pulp, so not sure if you are looking for that. It comes apart really easy, so it is easy to clean. All the pulp is dry, so you know it is doing a good job. It is great.

I bought the Hurom from Sur le Table last week. I like the smooth way it juices. It takes some effort to clean, which is the way I remember my old Champion (from which I could never remove those teensy specks of carrot!). One word for the Hurom (which is Korean): smooth operating.

I had thought for a while about getting a juicer, but knew I wouldn't want to do the clean-up required (which in some models I understand can be worse than others), and I didn't like the idea of pulling the fiber/pulp out of the fruit/veggie. I finally decided to buy a vitamix instead to make smoothies using the entire vegetable/fruit. I know there are pros/cons to juicer v. vitamix in terms of what people believe re: vitamin absorption, or which is better. I decided the vitamix was a more multi-use machine for me, not just for juice. I just got it so can't say too much yet (other than easy to clean).

Sue..I have made and heated marinara, soup in mine. It's like magic - lol. Frozen stuff is great...and using it as a blender? It literally runs away with smoothies - lol. I have made peanut butter, too. Worked damn well...
keep experimenting :)

Centrifugal juicers and the Vitamix are different types of machines, as Sue points out. The former extracts all the juice, leaving dry pulp; the Vitamix pulverizes the entire fruit or vegetable.
If anyone is looking for a juicer, I have an Omega 1000 that was only used twice. I purchased it intending to make juice for a friend with cancer, but he wasn't very cooperative. Works great.

May I ask how much you paid for your Vitamix? I am nervous that if purchase it I wouldn't use it for all that it is intended for: soups, sauces, etc ... My friend just bought the Breville and is quite happy with it. I don't need and want one more kitchen appliance that gets shoved in the cupboards. Anonyme, I did check out your juicer that you are selling. I am still trying to figure out all the different brand and prices.
