JoBParticipantIt’s summer, the garden i have worked so hard on is blooming and Jan’s new kidney is starting to work.. I can’t think of a better reason to celebrate…
Jan and I sat down and picked a date and time yesterday.. the afternoon of July 20 .. and we will be partying at my house.
Of course there will be a piggy or jar or two to stuff with your spare change and maybe a raffle or tournament or…
you didn’t expect me to throw a party without throwing in a little fundraising, did you?
Jan is going to need financial help to survive her recovery…
but it’s been a difficult year or two for too many of us… so celebration will be our priority.
put this on your calendar if you think you might want to drop in…
and let me know if you would like to help in some way.
I am in the last minute oh my gosh i am throwing a party at my house in less than two weeks and i am inviting people i don’t even know planning stage…
you can contact me at joanne@brayden.org if you would like to help…
i will post the address next week.
in the meantime.. feel free to post comments.. suggestions… etc here… our own little last minute lets throw a party planning site ;->
just in case you didn’t know… i am into spontaneity

miwsParticipantJo, let me know what I can do to help.
As to Jo’s point about fundraising; Jan’s recovery will prevent her from resuming her profession as a home-based Massage Therapist for the remainder of the Summer. As much as she’d like to be working now, it’s very physically demanding work.

JanSParticipantJuly 20th is parade day on Calif. Ave. The party would be after that, so you can entertain the kiddies. It will be a good old fashioned garden party. I’m hoping that some of the people on the blog that we don’t know yet, but chat with come and get to know us and vice versa, donation or not. Our weather is just great in July, so wear sunscreen, and bring your (virtual) party hats. I just want to have fun :D

shed22ParticipantJoB, you’re not asking, but I would caution you from posting a home address on a public site. Your choice, but collecting emails from those interested and sending an evite (or something similar) is encouraged.

JoBParticipantShed22.. i appreciate your concern…
i gave this one a bit of thought… i know it’s risky because there are stalkers out there who can associate my address with me
and that could cause problems…
however.. I made a choice some time ago to forgo anonymity in favor or transparency and that means that most reasonably competent cyber-stalkers already have my address.
heck.. i know a few who claim to know more about my personal history and motivations than i do ;->
most of my cyber stalkers also know that i have a couple of shiba watchdogs and one of them is decidedly unfriendly…
because i am pretty up front about that too…
in fact lately.. neither one of them are too happy about anyone coming on the property..
i didn’t know my girl was such a competent watchdog:)
and … we tend to have a house-sitter when we are out of town..
come to think of it,
he’s not too friendly to strangers either :->
do you sense a pattern here?
luckily isolation isn’t one of my problems. lately it seems that i don’t get to be home alone much at all…
for months now i have had at least one guy and sometimes as many as 5 here hanging out and working on the yard with me…
if i was having a garage sale i would be posting my address publicly…
so i am inclined to risk it..
i think i will even create a facebook event for this one and link to it here…
charla can probably help me do that tomorrow.. since my skills don’t run to that particular innovation
i don’t know how much more public you can get than facebook..
but that seems to be how much of my social life is conducted these days…
ah.. the joys of aging gracefully with a chronic illness ;-}
thanks again for watching out for me
you don’t know how much i appreciate it
