Injera in West Seattle?

  1. Does anyone know of a local (West Seattle) source of injera, the Ethiopian flatbread? I've found it in the Central District, but would love to find a more local source!

  2. Julie, I'm not familiar with the bread, but I did a search and found this thread that mentioned places in Seattle to buy it, and one of the replies refers to West Seattle/White Center. http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/426068

  3. Sue, thanks for pointing that out. The poster who mentions White Center, however, doesn't list any specific grocers--she just says there're lots of African grocers where one can buy injera in White Center.

I know Asian grocers and places to buy Hispanic groceries in White Center, but I've never noticed any Ethiopian, or Eritrean, or general African grocers/shops. I'll keep an eye out, but can anybody point me straight to one?

Hello, isn't there an African grocery right on Delridge? It had to move from the west side of the street to the east side when the library was built?

I'm not sure that the grocer on Delridge is still there. I would bet though, that the market on the corner of Roxbury and 16th (it used to be a computer place; SW corner) would have injera. They do carry Halal meats.
