Perfect day to work in the garden! If you have bearded iris's, now is a good time to wipe the dirt off the top of the rhyzome to expose it to sunshine and maximize the number of beautiful spring flowers!

no garden here to work in, but windows aNd deck door open to let all the fresh air in, get the bad germs out. Cold is now going on over two weeks, and it's being annoying with a vengeance today. :(
I will have to, at some point soon, get to work on having something on my deck...tomatoes, anyone? Hanging tomato plants? Sweet peas climbing up the Directv tripod?

Hallelujah! I bought a hummingbird feeder and am attempting to snare a picture of a ruby-throated hummer that found it this AM. The camera is ready, now I just need to step away from the computer and wait for it to visit...

In my neighborhood there is a hummingbird nest right at eye level in a rhodie bush. The cup shaped nest is tiny and it is great viewing with the hummer perched nearby. I am being careful not to draw too much attention to it as someone is likely to use poor judgement in getting a closer look.

Yeah, but...
Is anyone else miserable with allergies? I always get sick around March/april from allergies, and this year it's Waaaaay early.
JanS, bet there's a little pollen irritation going on with you if you're worse today.
Still, I'm sure not knocking the beautiful sunny weather.Posted 2 years ago # -
Jo, yes, allergies are very bad right now with everything blooming. Still loving it though. Although I wish I could've enjoyed the weather today - I was stuck in indoor (windowless) meetings until 4pm. Boo!
