I have a mens tuxedo and would like to donate it to a program locally, any ideas?

  2. That's awfully nice of you. Seems like you just need to find a program that caters to a hybrid demographic of indigent men who also happen to frequent black tie events. Should be an easy task. :-)

  3. Although High School Prom season is a ways off yet, I wonder if there are any programs that would take them to lend out to low-income youth?

How about a high school drama club or community theater group?

  5. Mike - I think you're on the right track - that leads me to suggest that the OP call Southwest Youth and Family Services - if THEY don't know, probably nobody will

    except MAYBE West Seattle Helpline

  6. surprise surprise someone jumps in right away with a snarky and sarcastic comment.

I know there are places that you can donate prom dresses - I think there have been articles in the Seattle Times about it.

or even goodwill. if it's in good shape, a guy might buy it to wear at his wedding. they sell those. I got my wedding dress there believe it or not. you know, some couples might be paying for their wedding on their own, and not wanting to go into debt to do it. and they're not necessarily indigent, they're well-educated sensible folks.

  8. Lighten up, sam-c. Sometimes when we can't be helpful, a little snarkiness is all we can muster. I'm sure Christopher meant no offense.
