skeeterParticipantI know it’s been said before, but I’ll say it again because I think about it every time I walk through the Junction. I miss the Rocksport restaurant a lot. I simply loved their location, food, onion rings, service, and everything. I especially liked the “beer of the month” promo. A great opportunity to try something new each month. I found the prices to be fair, too (and I’m a little frugal so that’s saying something.) I also liked that the restaurant was family friendly, but didn’t feel like it was geared 100% to families (like, say, a Red Robin.) It was just the perfect place if you asked me.
Does anyone know if the owner is interested in getting back into the business? We need more restaurants with all these apartments shooting up.

wakefloodParticipantHey Skeets, we probably sat near each other at some point there. I loved playing trivia with the gang waiting for our food.
And where else am I gonna’ hear 40-somethings playing 80’s cover rock?? ;-)
I agree that it was a great combination of family-friendly without the 13 pieces of flair. Occasionally the service was disinterested but we had lots of pretty good food at reasonable prices. I’ve morphed my patronage to a few other places like BevPlace and others but the mix is different.

SmittyParticipantOnce the city went non-smoking we would always go there with our kids.
We would enjoy an adult beverage and a rocksport burger and the kids would get chicken strips and a root beer. Every. Time.
Enjoyed the sports on TV and the video games if the kids needed a break.
I also enjoyed the 80’s tunes tremendously and the occasional Apple Cup. Now that was fun (especially if the Cougs won…..:~)
I will never forgot walking in on a Saturday and finding out it was the Seattle home base for Michigan Wolverines fans. Man, my kids were loving Hail to the Victors that day…over and over. So loud! (I wonder where their alumni meet now?).
I am trying to fill that void with the Bridge BUT no kids allowed. Redline doesn’t do it for me either.
RIP Rocksport. Great memories.

skeeterParticipantHey Wake and Smitty I’d like to meet you guys. I’ll be working at the Morgan Junction Festival tomorrow (Sat June 21) from 10-11 at the West Seattle Bike Connections tent. Please feel welcome to swing by and say hello!

miwsParticipantHey guys!
Look for this mug in the pic under my name here. I plan on being at the Festival for a little while, anyway, the earliest would likely be 11:00-ish.
I’ve been wanting to meet each of you for sometime now!

annaeileenParticipantMe too, I totally miss Rocksport. I loved the trivia and my claim to fame is I was in first place (Chester was my name)one Sept! I loved the prime rib, BLT’s and the people. Tara was a great bartender and always remembered what I drank. Fern sometimes did but was still nice.
The Rocksport owners are from Lacey so I doubt they would be willing to open another WS bar. I too have found some other places but they aren’t the same.

skeeterParticipantI’ll keep an eye open Mike!

westcoastdebParticipantOH man are you guys so right. I really really miss this place.
The closest I have come to a go-to since Rocksport closed is either Bison Creek in Burien (though sometimes a bit too full of kids for my liking) or Feedback lounge – whose prices seem to be a bit more.

skeeterParticipantMike it was very nice to meet you too! One of these days I’ll try to organize a get-together. So many folks I’d like to say hello to in person.

wakefloodParticipantHey guys, I wish I’d had time to stop by and catch you too. Finishing kitchen remodel and had a plumbing emergency on top of that.
If anyone wants to know, Home Depot closes 8pm Sundays. I needed them to be open until 8:30pm if that’s any indication of how my weekend went. ;-)
Catch you all next time!
