I have been off the opinion for many years that Tim Eyman needs to go find a real job and start contributing something useful to society. Of course people who think they are way overburdened tax-wise will go for this, since they think that the state runs on air...but I would never put my signature on a petition for this thing, and never ever ever give it a yes vote. I have no use for the likes of Tim Eyman and anyone who agrees with him. He doesn't have a clue as to how it really is.
I wish I could still edit my post. I apologize for my poor choice of wording: I used Mr. Eyman's name as a shorthand for the initiative -- and that invited Eyman-bashing, which wasn't my intention.

Mr. Eyman, much as I disagree with him, really isn't the problem. Were he to take the course you suggest, someone else would come along to take his place, because so many people believe that "the government" is something other than themselves which takes too much of "their" wealth.

Unless those people come to understand that they ARE the government (because they live in a democracy), and that government -- that is, all of us, working together -- is what makes a modern, civilized society possible, our civilization will be poorer because they believe this "government" (which they believe is something other than themselves) is taking too much away from them, and do not understand what they gain from living in a more civilized society.

I live in my safe building because of gov't. permits that say it'll be done right, I drink the water out of the tap with no fear, because of gov't....and on and on.
I just find Mr. Eyman reprehensible for pandering to those who simply don't get it. They simply think that gov't. should be out of their lives, should collect no money from them, should leave them alone to their own devices...yet they are the first one's to scream if there's a pothole on their street, or not enough police protection, or whatever today's complaint might be.
Gov't. permeates every aspect of our lives on a daily basis..and for Mr. Eyman (or anyone) to put forth something like this simply pisses me off.
this will not be an uplifting ballot all around.
