   Thank you sir, for wearing your flashing headlamp on your WHITE helmet, with the red LIGHTS twinking on your reflective vest, as you pedaled up toward Fauntleroy from the Avalon triangle around 6:10pm tonight. I saw you. I SAW you, and. And I thought you were awesome.

   And you, with your bright yellow pants and reflective vest powering up Admiral Hill about an hour later, I saw you too! And think you are awesome as well.

   Unfortunately, there's a guy who runs at night wearing nothing but black clothing whom I've had 2 near-misses with in the past 3 weeks, along California around the Admiral junction. I hope he stays safe :(

   KUDOS reflective garment wearers!!! I so appreciate you!

   If I weren't female and down in Westwood tonight, I'd have thought the first one was about me. ;)

   Headlamp, TWO blinky red lights, and now a windbreaker jacket in Obnoxious Yellow...me and my husband out shopping for groceries.

   Just call us the Dork Ninjas. On bicycles. :D

   I see a few cyclists like that coming up SW Yancy from Allstar Fitness to Avalon right around 5:45pm to 6pm. Always notice the lights...

   Lights are what it's all about. Even in daytime they can help, especially during our six straight months of cloud cover.

   I really want some of these.

   Datamuse, Nite Ize are not what they appear in the [enhanced] photos. I was disappointed, but that's just my opinion.
   .
   After being jealous of everyone with a seizure-inducing front flasher PLUS steady, I rigged up with a Light&Motion + MiNewt steady on front, Planetbike Superturbo + another blinkie on the back, Illuminite vest and Bikebrightz (also disappointing). Highly recommend having 2 front lights more than anything else.

   amalia, yeah I watched the videos and I agree, not really what the photos make them look like. I like the idea of being more visible from the side, though.

   My husband's got one of those flashing lights on the front that, when he's riding behind me, makes me feel like I'm in a nightclub with the strobe on. Heh.

   datamuse - I sent my brother-in-law in Oz two of those, and also one of these strands of lights from bikeglow. He's in town visiting, I'll have to ask him what he thought of them.

    I have all the lights, reflective gear, etc. And a couple years ago realized I also needed side night visibility! Added a reflective sidewall tire and put reflective tape on each spoke. I have yet to find a spoke light of any sort that lasts more than a couple weeks in wet weather...anyone...?

    STROBE, that was the word I was looking for. I recently found out that they are not legal in front in WA! I'm not a big law-breaker, but I still run my strobe. After checking out thousands of other cyclists' set-ups, I think they (with a steady) are hard to ignore. I do switch it off for on-coming cyclists on trails.

    The human eye doesn't see the object it’s aimed at, rather it sees the light that either transmits from or is reflected off of that object. Therefor...

    I roll with a Spoke Grenade SG-1000 (great light!) on the medium of three brightness settings mounted under my handlebar bag and a white flasher just above the visor on my helmet, to the rear are red-flashers on the back of my helmet and on the back of the rear bag.

    My torso is clad in day-glow green and any other clothing has reflective piping built-in as do the bags, tire sidewalls and splash-guards on the end of each fender.

    It’s scary to see how some cyclists rather ride Ninja style and at a greater risk of something very big and heavy colliding with them.

    Bike more, drive less!!!
