JanSParticipantHere is a link to take you to two videos. Scroll down and watch the bottom one first…it’s the “explanation” one about net neutrality. Then take the time to go back to the top and watch the John Oliver video. It is long, a hair over 13 minutes, but at the end he asks you to do something…and it doesn’t matter if you are pro or con. I love this guy…

JeannieParticipantYes, finally some good news. And I’m a fan of John Oliver, too – the video is well worth watching.

HMC RichParticipantThat was brilliant. I have been against Net Neutrality since I heard about it. Whoops, Skynet just became aware! Say hi to your local terminator one of these days. Goodbye to more of our freedom.

JanSParticipantwhat freedom are we saying goodbye to with Net Neutrality? The freedom of Comcast to gouge you even more, depending on if you have the 5 MBS or 40 MBS? Please explain, Rich…the freedom to only get certain internet sites unless you fork over more money?
I prefer to be able to access everything on the internet whether I’m the 200K earner or the 20K earner…that’s the freedom I want…

JTBParticipantI am encouraged by the ability of internet companies and users to organize sufficiently to overcome the lobbying effort of massive media corporations.

dhgParticipantThere is going to be constant pressure to close down Net Neutrality. Comcast and Verizon can make much more money if they can control what people see on the net. (as in: gold package will allow you to select up to 60 sites! including Pat Robertson! for just $120 /mo.)
Koch Brothers, Fox News and the politicians in their pockets want to see limited news access that does not conflict with their world views.
