If you love reading about Seattle's history and looking at old photos like me you've probably already seen Paul Dorpat's website. He does the "now and then" photos in Sunday's Pacific Magazine.

Todays web edition brought us West Seattle and her bridges. A lot of cool old photos. Check them out here - http://pauldorpat.com/seattle-now-and-then/seattle-now-then-coming-home-to-riverside/

Always loved Paul Dorpat's Now & Then feature!

  3. Yeah, thanks, jb.

What these old photos demonstrate (to me) is that West Seattle has always been a city fixated on moving things (boats/trains/cars/people) from one place to another. If there's a common theme to photos of West Seattle, it would have to be something along the lines of: "Hey world! Look at the great transportation thingee we just built."

  4. I have seen/heard Paul Dorpat do readings at Town Hall on a few occasions, and he is a terrific talent. I love that he does these things about our city's history. He's a pretty special guy.
