I heard a very inspiring radio show today on npr about these guys accidentally getting letters to santa from kids. (it is only about 5 minutes if anyone is curious http://snapjudgment.org/letters-santa-miracle-22nd-street).
Anyway, they ended up going out of their way to help these kids get their christmas wishes. I have always donated more around the holidays, but have never looked into really helping local kids/families.
Are there any West Seattle (or White Center) area organizations that help families/kids around the holidays? I would love to give more this holiday, like an "adopt a family" type organization where you can buy gifts for the kids, or even provide food, etc.. any ideas or anyone know of any local organization that might need extra help around the holidays?

Maybe check to see if any of these United Way agencies have westside branches?
and here is an old post from the blog on the same subject that has some suggestions--
