   I have some friends that are new to the area. We are going out to dinner tonight somewhere in West Seattle, but I\'m not sure where to take them. Here\'s what I\'m looking for.

   -- casual enough we can wear jeans and a reasonably clean t-shirt
   -- tasty, not too greasy, interesting gets points, we don\'t mind spicy or unusual a bit.
   -- won\'t break the bank
   -- small, very local, no one but West Seattle knows about

   I should know the place I\'m looking for, having lived in here for so long, but I\'m blanking on ideas. Thanks!

   Kokurus.. greek.. morgan junction

   Eppheus.. won\'t break the bank if you share.. persian.. between the juncition and morgan junction

   Abbodanza... pizza .. morgan junction

   elliot bay brew pub.. the fact that everybody knows about it doesn\'t make it a bad choice..

   sunfish grill... tends towards greek... seafood kabob and salads.. exceptional! great walk after dinner.. on Alki

   the fish and chips place at the water taxi dock.. best view in town.. great fish and chips.. beer on the patio...

   i have already taken guests to all of them.. with rave reviews.

   i know there are more.

   Get a burger at Pepperdocks with an ice cream cone for dessert and take a walk on Alki. :-)

   Hey nic -

   JoB mentioned the Sunfish Cafe. I\'m going to second that for you and your group. They really do the fresh seafood thing very well. They are picky about quality and it shows. There isn\'t a lot of artistic interpretation in their food. But, there doesn\'t have to be when the quality and freshness is so absolutely consistent. They have nice seafood kabobs, dense little Greek salads and what I always seem to reorder is the halibut. Yum. Yum. Yum.

   It will be a nice evening to be down on the beach and Sunfish has outdoor seating. Also, if I recall correctly, they don\'t accept VISA, so heads up. Enjoy...maybe stop at River House on Harbor Ave in the red metal building under the bridge for a gelato, eh? The Alki grocery store has gelato too.

   Sunfish is great (they have a wonderful fish kabobs for anyone who isn\'t into fried food)

   Pegasus pizza (Tom\'s Special is my fav)

   Lee\'s Asian at the Junction. Yumm.

   Buddha Ruksa is some of the best Thai food in the city...shhh, don\'t tell anyone! It is casual, but nicer than many Thai places with dark paneling and nice decor. Try the crispy garlic chicken with friend basil, it has been lovingly referred to as \"crack chicken\". It is right off the West Seattle freeway on Genessee.

    I third Sunfish in Alki. Great food. It really shows of what WS has to offer food-wise as well as view-wise. They only take cash as someone else noted however. Other than that, we love Dukes (great outdoor seating area), though it is a bit pricier than some. And our old stand-by favorite is Luna Park. Fun, quirky, nostalgic, quick, yummy, homestyle food.

    I\'ll fourth the Sunfish! Best Fish & Chips in town bar none and everything else is good too. No credit cards, cash is best.

    Don\'t forget the Homestead. New owners since Mrs. Nelson passed away, but their food was as good the last time we were there. A great homey place, unique atmosphere in a log house.
