   I would like to give thanks to all the medical researchers and inventors who have increased our knowledge and improved techniques for healing, and to the surgeons, doctors, nurses, administrators, and diverse personnel who create and maintain the complex system that gives us access to that skill and technology--with a particular grateful nod to those giving up their holiday today to help people who need them.

    i'm thankful to be one of a dwindling number of blue-collar people with a roof over his head and a turkey roasting in the oven.

    and i'm most especially thankful for an awesome wife who loves to put this thing together every year.
