Meet Gus, a special-needs dog in need of a good home. I have to relocate to Australia for school and need to find a new home for my best friend. I found Gus as a 3-week old puppy in Dominica, while in the Peace Corps. Gus was abused and neglected, but I gave him a second chance at life by taking him back to America where he has been loved and cared for.
Gus is now looking for his third chance at happiness by finding a new family to adore him. Gus has not had an easy life, he suffers from fear-based aggression due to his early abuse and subsequent pit-bull and racoon attacks. Despite his past, Gus is the most amazing and loyal dog I have ever known. Gus will need a patient and stable family without children. Gus has lived with dogs and cats, and does well with both if provided proper introduction. Gus is housebroken, leash trained, and knows all basic commands. If you are looking for the most wonderful, loving, and rewarding dog there is, please contact Kate at 973-879-9822 or Greg at greg@gtgross.com.

If there's any possibility you can help Gus, please look at his movie. He is absolutely irresistable (looks very much like Max the Glab who came here with me and died of old age before he ever slowed down.) This dog will speak to you.

I wish I could take him! I don't think he would enjoy our two resident dogs, though. :(

Hi, just wanted to let everyone know that Gus is still available. Gus is crate trained, and has had extensive behavioral training. He understands all basic commands and is great on the leash. Gus is a perfect running companion, and would love to help you train for that next race! If you are looking for truly loving special-needs dog, please contact me about Gus!
