When I start to get to know people, I, greedily, want to know more -- so what\'s your favorite (most embarassing?) guilty pleasure?

I\'ll start, because mine is even tangentially related to WS -- the charla and the bob both LOVE Project Runway (Bravo\'s fashion design reality show.) The Runway\'s biggest audience share is in Seattle (not exactly the fashion capital of the world) and at least the first year, Cirque had a party to watch the season finale. I suspect there are Runway parties all over town. When the wrong designer wins, I\'ve even been known to whine :-)

    And you?

  2. My guilty pleasure is inhaling a whole package of red vines before the movie even starts.

*does drum roll and hits cymbal*

Charla - My guilty pleasure is a whole tub of Ben&Jerry\'s ice cream to myself and a whole season of either \"Lost\", \"Grey\'s Anatomy\", or \"24\" from Blockbuster.

Then there is also a great bottle of cabranet....

A good cigar (you said they could be embarrassing. Bet you would have never guessed I like a good cigar now and again).....

Driving around and listening to my radio really loud.....

    How many can we have?

beachdrivegirl, I swear I thought I wrote that...love cheese, love wine. My TV guilty pleasure, and I\'m almost a little ashamed to say this...repeats of Beverly Hills 90210...eek, now it\'s out there...

  7. Frosting from a can slathered thickly between two Graham crackers and chased with a dry-as-a-bone mug of Merlot.
    That\'s right, I said mug.

    Posted 4 years ago #
  8. My guilty pleasure is watching The Daily Show & Colbert Report on my computer while checking the WSB. I also am crazy about the show \"Lost\" and spend way too much time reading Lost blogs and updates.

Then there\'s also my daily home brewed mocha espresso\'s and occasional stops at Bakery Neauveau(sp) for amazing croissants that taste just like Paris.

    Posted 4 years ago #
  9. Oh yeah, and Project Runway! My husband even loves to watch it with me! He truly hates all other reality TV.

I truly hate t.v. period! So my guilty pleasure is walking through stores like Bed, Bath and Beyond and discretely turning off every blaring t.v. that I can. I find those demo-mercials to be offensive.
And I\'m thinking wine and cheese party with Beachdrivegirl and Barmargia. A selection of cheese on a cutting board can almost bring me to tears! So I quiet my emotions with a glass of wine.

    Posted 4 years ago #
  12. Good grief I think we all muSt be related!...my greatest guilty pleasure is cheese, lots of it, in any form (solid, cream, cottage, melted, shredded), paired with squishy warm bread, a HUGE cup of freshly brewed coffee, and a even HUGER glass of pinot noir while I\'m watching Project Runway or LOST (best damn tv show ever!) while taking a bubble bath...ok, so I can\'t watch TV and take a bath at the same time, but if I could put a TV in the bathroom and not look like a total moron, I would totally do it.

    Posted 4 years ago #
  13. For any of you who have not gotten on the Lost train, take our word for it, rent Season One from Blockbuster. This show is so much fun! Definitely much better than cleaning house or pulling weeds. This is TV that even brainiacs can appreciate. Even you Flowerpetal :),

  15. amen WSMom...new i liked ya when we met, now i know why...you have excellent taste in television :)

    Posted 4 years ago #
  16. wow...guilty pleasures...first...on TV..Prison Break..yeah, I\'m probably the only one who watches in SEattle - lol..and I\'ll go with the cheese and warm squishy bread (or hard cold crackers)...but the cheese has to be Beecher\'s Flagship. At 16 bucks a lb., it doesn\'t happen often (they make great mac and cheese , too).
Oh, and a really big container of garlic mashed taters and gravy from Met Market Deli...yummmmmmmm....

    Posted 4 years ago #
  17. +1 for cheese and wine and trashy TV. But I really feel like I\'m getting away with something by taking Mondays and Tuesdays off work, anchoring the bar at Cactus in the early afternoon for my Syrah and soup lunch, and hanging out way more on this blog than my own :-) It\'s a great break from my day job.

A couple cold Pabst Blue Ribbons, in the garage, working on a cafe racer motorcycle with The Kinks, The Who, or surf music blaring off of the turntable (yeah have vinyl still), then at 10pm, tuning in to Coast to Coast with George Noory and listening to people talk about Bigfoot or UFOs.

Diet soda (several cans a day)

    Taco Time

The Osmond Family (they are so freaking happy and they remind me of my childhood and I remember the lyrics to their songs. I would pay to see them live in a heartbeat.)

I really don\'t watch tv except the Food Network and weird obscure public access educational programs when I can\'t sleep. I guess that counts.

    Posted 4 years ago #
  21. I have long maintained that all I really need to subsist is cheese, bread, and good wine (well, and maybe some french fries). Now throw in a TV-related guilty pleasure and for me it\'s the Award Shows (Oscars, Golden Globes, SAG, Emmys, Grammys, etc.). I don\'t know why because I don\'t watch that much TV or keep up with all the latest movies, there\'s just something so fun about watching all that hoopla!

    Posted 4 years ago #
  22. Bologny sandwich on white bread, French\'s mustard, and yes, just like when I was kid, good ol potato chips smashed in side the sandwich. YUM. This only happens maybe once or twice a year. so it is truly a guilty pleasure.

    And, bloody Marys at breakfast!

JanS, you reminded me of another of my main GPs -- Peanut Butter and Banana Sandwich *on rye*. Pumpernickel is the best.

    Posted 4 years ago #
  34. OK, JanS and charlabob you also reminded me of 2 guilty pleasures that I don\'t think of often, but crave when I think of them...cheerios and yogurt mixed together, preferrably with goopy Yami starwberry yogurt, and tuna fish sandwiches with tons and tons of pickles and mayo on sourdough bread...YUUUUUUMMMM.

Reading the latest garbage about Britney, Paris, L. Lohan, and all those other celebutards. Thumbing through the \"Fashion Police\" pages of Us Weekly while waiting on line at the supermarket. Casting sidelong glances at The National Enquirer headlines. Going to NY Post\'s Web site to indulge in cheesy writing.

Aw, JT, I might have to watch that just to see them!

I\'ve spent several vacations in Utah and I know it sounds completely weird for a such a goat-cheese-eatin\' latte-drinkin\' grunge-raised liberal city girl, but I love it there. It\'s an incredibly beautiful state and I don\'t care what anybody says....the Osmonds made beautiful music (of that genre, for their time, that is.) It not that they\'re so dorky they\'re hip---they\'re just dorky, and they don\'t care. In the land of sometimes-pretentious uber-hip Seattle, that\'s cool in my book.

Huskys Licorice Ice Cream (in a dish, in a cone, however). best in the world.

I think we all know what to bring to the first annual WSB potluck -- and, so far, it ain\'t cole slaw. :-) We even have the beginnings of a sound track. Anyone for Neil Diamond and Abba, in Ipod rotation with the Osmunds???

  41. The expensive chocolate covered graham crackers at Met Market, and British panel shows on youtube.

Designed to Sell, on HGTV. \"Look, the house went for 30k over the asking price because we painted the fireplace, and hung some sheets on the window!\"

    Posted 4 years ago #
  44. JanS- FYI last time I was at Costco they were selling BIG hunks of Beecher\'s Flagship for less than $10....

...and I guess in addition to not having facebook/myspace/ipod/etc I am also the only person NOT watching Lost.... :)

    Posted 4 years ago #
  45. JenV...you\'re not the only one...I\'ve never watched Lost either....

JenV - If you\'re interested, they have the full season, every season, at blockbuster. In fact, that is the best way to watch it!

I didn\'t start watching it until last year. I don\'t watch it on T.V., because I\'m too impatient. So I always just wait for each season to come out on dvd. It really is entertaining!

    Posted 4 years ago #
  47. NewRes- I have had a lot of people tell me that. I just don\'t want to be beholden to my TV...I only have room in my life for one ongoing series and right now, I am waiting for season 2 of Terminator to come out... :)

We watched the first season of Lost and loved it; somehow got lost and missed some of the second. (How many have there been?) Can you rent the whole season at Blockbuster? Netflix sends one disk at a time and that\'s not how we do marathons.

I\'m not sure if this is a guilty pleasure, but (1) Anything with Eddie Izzard and (B) The Riches -- his very quirky TV series, which starts its second season on TNT this week--our Tivo awaits. If its going to season 2, someone else must have liked it. :-)

Every time I\'m in the Junction, I duck into Many Moons and the Cancer Society and Senior Center thrift stores to check out what\'s new. I usually buy a bunch of stuff I don\'t need. But it\'s fun!

    Posted 4 years ago #
  50. Charla, the library has DVD sets of Lost - that\'s how I got hooked on them. I thought I\'d never get through 7 discs in the 2 week period, but I got obsessed enough and watched 3 seasons in 3 weeks. :) Also, the ABC website has all the episodes to watch online. When you pull up a season, you\'ll have to scroll down to the bottom of the list - they have the last episode in the season appearing first. And try not to read the episode descriptions - they can be a bit spoilerish if you don\'t know what\'s going to happen.

Jan/Jen, I never watched Lost either until I got hooked last month and watch it all.
