Things I love about Thursdays with decent weather. Instead of the normal commuter bike, I pull out the race bike. Toss on the back pack and head to work. Put in my 8 hours then ride to Seward park to Race with my teammates and friends then ride home in the sunshine, completely wiped out and high on great workout.

    Thursdays are good.

I am envious. How do you deal with the potholes?

  3. I agree, it was a great morning for a ride. No wind, mild temps. The traffic was surprisingly calm (as it was last night as well). I was thinking it was a great day for a ride as I headed out this morning as well!

Potholes: learn avoid them and how to ride through them if you cannot avoid them (i.e. lean your weight back not forward). Get strong rims and well built wheels.

Which reminds me... if any of you want to watch a bike race, we have a weekly race thats been going on for YEARS at Seward Park. Every Thursday night during the summer between 5 and 8 there are 3 races (depending on your skill/ Category) Come Down and watch the Pro/1/2 race at 7pm... It's a Blast!

If I didn't already have plans to watch little league tonight, I'd totally head to Seward for the races. I enjoyed your flickr photos when your handle used to link to the race photos velo_nut (now I can't find them).

Nice weather makes me kind if envious of bikers too!

btw, Al and Velo, don't know if either of you would be able to assist, but Nickelsville has bikes which are in various states of disrepair. I was told some need tires, some need more.
If either of you have the inclination to spread the word to the bike community that would be so cool to provide some needful peeps some transpo to get to work or interviews or just get some exercise.

Anyway, bike races are fun to watch. There was one held at Westcrest a year or two ago that was great.
