Has anyone in the area taken a grant writing class locally? If so, where? Did you like it? Was it for advanced students or for beginners? Were you successfully able to apply for grants after the class? Im looking for a way to keep Service Dog Academy in the black and help more disabled people at the same time.

Though I couldn't find it in the current class list I believe SSCC offers a grant writing class from time to time.

Antioch University offers an outstanding grant writing class through their Continuing Education programs. It looks like the next one is offered in the fall. Here's information on the instructor, who really loads you up with great information on grant sites and she has students actually write a grant proposal as part of the course and submit them to foundations, etc. I very much enjoyed the class and learned a lot.
"Instructor: Goodwin Deacon, PhD, is the founder of the Puget Sound Grantwriters Association and continues to be active on its board. She has worked in the grant writing field for 30 years. In addition to her extensive work as a freelance grantwriter, she has taught grant writing in the University of Washington Fundraising Management Certificate Program and taught at Discover U and worked on the development staff for organizations such as Seattle Opera, Seattle University, and Children’s Hospital Foundation."
