Graffiti

  1. The abandoned house across from Skylark was tagged with graffiti. Let's all call/email the city to have it removed. When the owner does not comply we can expedite having that place torn down. Sound good?

Also, the wall along Delridge across frok Dakota was tagged, do you think the city will remove if we complain?

  2. Anybody else with current sore spots, please mention them here. I wrote on the home page some weeks back that our citywide-news partners at the Times were launching a special report on graffiti vandalism, and we're going to be writing at least one special WSB story to be linked at the same time. I saw the aforementioned house tag while we were at Skylark for dinner last night - that was one of the houses on the "problem properties" tour a year ago that has NOT been torn down (yet), unlike the one we mentioned on the home page today.

PS - The graffiti reporting form:

I use the Seattle.gov to report graffiti all the time. The city is very responsive. It is private property and things like the USA Today newspaper stands that are slow to respond if ever. But report both public and private property graffiti to the city. As the city should notify the private prop owners.

  4. Someone tagged the church across the street from our house on Tuesday. I reported it to the graffiti hotline but I think the church must be short on volunteer cleaning resources or brown paint 'cause it's still there...
I'm tempted to buy some brown paint and go across the street and paint it out 'cause it sure is an eyesore when I look out my front window!

  6. I have reported it. Everyone who has to drive past this house every day should report it too. The city needs to know.

Very glad to see the Seattle Public Utilities got its crew out quickly and painted out the crap on the retaining wall at Dakota and Delridge Way. Thank you SPU!
