I've just been in touch with Chef Gabriel Claycamp, the man responsible for the hand-cured bacon that has been in such high demand across the City over the past week. Gabe tells me that in response to his e-mail last Tuesday his staff sold a half-ton of bacon within 14 hours!!!
Many bacon seekers throughout Seattle were stymied. However, fear not bacon fans! When the Culinary Communion team heard that West Seattle Blog readers were at risk of going artisan-bacon-less they sprung into action to save the day. They will be making a special batch to meet the overwhelming demand!!
The only inconvenience will be a delay of a few days. The bacon for West Seattle Blog readers will be ready a week from today on Monday, December 8th. That means that bacon deliveries will get pushed back to the 8th or 9th. But I'll do all I can to get this bacon out to everyone through rain, sleet or snow.
As of this evening I have orders for around 80 pounds of bacon. I'm not sure how much more Gabe and his team can guarantee for delivery next week. So if you're interested and have yet to let me know my advice would be to get your order in to me ASAP to guarantee your ration of the good stuff.
