Can anyone reccomend a good place for Breakfast? Typically we go to Chelan but service has sorta gone down the toilet. We are simple people. We love a good omlet or some kick butt eggs benni.

    Thanks!

  3. Personally love the Montana Potatoes at Charlestown - zuccini, mushrooms, onions, red potatoes, tomatoes, topped with egg of your choice (I choose scrambled). Little tabasco on the side to dip in..... yum

  4. the corned beef hash at endolyne joes is the best I've ever found

JaK's is my new favourite spot for breakfast.

They aren't any more expensive than most breakfast spots in the area. A chorizo scramble with toast & really tasty potatoes will set you back < $10. And their breakfast libations (Mimosas, Bloody Marys) are only $3!!

Mmm.. breakfast! Is it Saturday morning yet?

  6. For a kick butt eggs benni, the only place is Charlestown Cafe. Like Chelan, they serve simple, classic food. But unlike Chelan, Charlestown has good coffee and great service.

If you don't mind going a little distance I love Huckleberry Square in Burien. They are on Ambaum and about 144th. Great breakfast and reasonably priced.

Have you called and talked to Mary or Scotty? Mary is the mother who owns the place and Scotty is her son who runs the place when she isn't there. I mostly see Scotty in the evening.

  8. Ok, it is a little far, but Huckleberry Sqare (on Ambaum in Burien) is very similar to the Chelan and has great food and good service too.

  9. What? No one mentioned Easy Street? I don't think they have Eggs Benedict but I still adore the fact you can have lunch for breakfast if you want.

  10. We haven't been to Huckelberry Square, but agree with the other suggestions from first hand experience.

A favorite of ours, although a bit far from our North Admiral digs, is Eats Market Cafe

Breakfast Sliders, yum, think of them as really, really good versions of McDonald's egg biscuits. Enough to share.

Brioche French toast, makes me want some breakfast at midnight.

Market Huevos Rancheros, rounds out our favorites.

  11. Huckleberry Square has basic fare, but the biscuits and gravy and eggs benedict and very good and for a small price.

Huckleberry Square is what you're looking for if you're fat, old, or hungover. And I mean that in a nice way as all 3 have been represented when we've gone. It has food you'd expect from about 50 years ago, including the frozen peas and white bread with dinner. Grandpa loves it! Nothing to rave about, but nothing to complain about either. I've only been a few times but the wait staff was excellent. Friendly and attentive.

  13. Fair enough JT, but since the Chelan was the starting place, I thought it a fair compare.

Totally agree Zenguy. Also reminds me of the now closed Admiral Way Cafe. Comfort food, and sometimes that's exactly what hits the spot.

  15. I like Ama Ama for breakfast. Luna Park also has a nice breakfast - especially in the summer when you can sit outside. Skylark totally kicks butt for breakfast - and lunch and dinner - although brunch isn't the same without Matthew Darling!

Yeah, Skylard isn't quite as fun since Matthew left! If they were located on California they'd give Easy Street a run for their money, but down under the bridge it's always easy to get a seat. I love the place.

Oops - "Skylard" - don't think that was a Freudian slip, but reading it back it is quite funny. So, to be straight, SkylarK rules!

  18. I'm a big fan of the weekend breakfasts at Angelia's, down by Admiral on California. Their crab benedict is delicious.

  19. Doesn't Ama Ama only do brunch on Sundays? And where did Matthew go?

Little Pat's Place between Whitecenter and Burien (13611 Ambaum - in a strip mall at the SW corner of an intersection with a traffic signal) is an inexpensive, old-fashioned diner that I really like. They always have very good Health Dept. inspection results, too (omit the apostrophe if you search for Health Dept. records).

I never had a problem with service at Chelan, but I went there to eat for the first time since summer last month and noticed the portions have got a lot smaller than in the past.

    Jiggers,

I noticed the Thursday Special (turkey dinner) to go at Little Pat's Place was noticeably smaller the last couple times I ordered it. The price didn't change, though, and it was still an inexpensive meal. The main difference for me was that I could eat the entire meal in one sitting instead of eating the leftovers later.

I think the price is $5.49 for turkey, dressing, mashed potatos, gravy, cranberry sauce, corn, dinner roll (with a pat of butter carefully inserted if to go), and choice of soup or salad.

I am also a huge fan of Easy Street as it takes an extremely long time for our family to get dressed, let along leave the house on Saturdays. It always FEELS like breakfast time when we go there. They have really good coffee, great service, fun atmosphere, and excellent basic breaksfasts. I am a Frances Farmer, Sam is a Little Richard, and Seann is New Wave-O's Rancheros. Mmmmm, making me hungry.

  29. You'll have to go Sundays, but Ama Ama all the way. Best eggs benedict in town. Coffee and everything else on the brunch menu is pretty great too. Atmosphere is top notch and service is bar none.

I love the breakfast menu at EATS MARKET CAFE in Westwood Village, next to 24-hour fitness. Nothing like pumping some iron and then pigging out on bacon and eggs.

  31. Didn't Ama-Ama have brunch on Saturday and Sunday at one point? Someone mentioned it was Sunday only, and it's confirmed on their website, but I could swear I've been there in the past on Saturday for brunch. Am I imaginging things?
