Goldie Needs Our Help

  1. Goldie is a friendly, loving cat that needs some human help. She was abandoned in a foreclosure situation and her leg is severely infected, requiring amputation. When she’s feeling well, Goldie is quick to purr and give headbutts. That spirit is still there even now while she’s fighting infection. After surgery, Goldie can adapt and make a wonderful family pet, but we need to save her life first.

    You can see Goldie here:

Any financial assistance with Goldie’s medical care is GREATLY appreciated and will allow F.C.A.T. to continue its efforts to spay & neuter as many cats possible.

Contributions can be sent directly to South Seattle Vet (11033 – 1st Avenue S, Seattle, WA 98168) or by phone at (206) 242-8338. Please indicate it is for the F.C.A.T./Goldie fund.

And yes, please save the afternoon of Saturday, April 10 for Let's "Fix" the Problem Together, a joint benefit for F.C.A.T. and Friends of the Animals Foundation!

Any idea what the total cost required is? Is it something a person could just pay?

  5. The total cost was $600.00 I had some culture work done on the skin. This did not present like a typical absess.

Of course a person could just pay but I would never assume some one would.

    Thanks

I really wish I could help. Been unemployed coming up on a year now otherwise I wouldn't have an issue helping out a beautiful creature as Goldie is. Sorry....

  7. Update: Her leg is off and she is getting around ok, she even went looking for the litter box. She seems to be relieved to say the least. I may already have a home for her. We'll see how things go tomorrow.

  10. I spent a good bit of time with Goldie yesterday - what a sweet girl! She's on the road to recovery and her new forever home. As has been mentioned before, we are so lucky to have a resource like WSB. It only takes one (though often it's more!) "right" person to read a thread and make a world of difference. Thank you!
